Four months after Mitsubishi revealed the 2027 Eclipse Sportback, the automaker has announced pricing for its newest electric vehicle (EV).

The Eclipse Sportback is the first new vehicle launching under Mitsubishi’s Momentum 2030 plan, which calls for at least one new or significantly refreshed model each year through 2030.

Pricing starts at $39,740, including a $1,995 destination fee. In Hawaii or Alaska, the destination charge will be a bit higher at $2,120, raising the starting price to $39,865.

This pricing closely aligns with expectations, considering that the Eclipse Sportback is based on the Nissan Leaf. Mitsubishi offers the EV in a single trim, positioned near the upper end of the Leaf lineup. For comparison, the related 2026 Nissan Leaf starts at $31,565 with the destination fee and tops out at $40,565.

The Eclipse Sportback equips a 75-kWh battery pack and delivers up to 282 miles of range. Although it shares its platform and battery technology with the Leaf, the Eclipse Sportback features unique exterior styling to distinguish it from its Nissan counterpart.

One notable feature is its dual charging setup. One port supports DC fast charging via the North American Charging Standard (NACS), including access to Tesla’s  Supercharger network. The other side has a J1772 connection for Level 1 and 2 charging.

The only upgrade available is a Technology Package priced at an extra $2,600. This package will give you roof rails, a 10-speaker Bose sound system, a panoramic roof with electrochromic dimming, and a hands-free liftgate.

Sales for the 2027 Eclipse Sportback are set to start this month.
