2025-2026 Volkswagen Taos Recalled for Post-Crash Fire Risk

The Volkswagen Group is recalling 38,710 2025-2026 model year Volkswagen Taos subcompact SUVs due to a post-crash fire risk.

According to the company, in a rear-impact accident, a fuel tank sensor may be pulled from the tank, potentially allowing fuel to spill and increasing the risk of a fire.

Volkswagen says it is not aware of any warranty claims or incidents related to this recall.

Repairs involve replacing the affected sensor with an improved unit and will be conducted for free, as required by law.

Owners will be notified about the recall starting June 19, 2026.
