2016 Scion tC starts at $20,180

Although the new 2016 Scion iA sedan and iM hatchback are in the news, the 2016 Scion tC Coupe is rolling out with a few notable changes of its own, with a continuing emphasis on value. Powered by a 175-horse/2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, the single trim tC Coupe will start at $20,180 when fitted with standard 6-speed manual transmission and $21,330 with the optional paddle-shift 6-speed automatic that features Dynamic Rev Management. The new pricing is a $175 increase over respective 2015 numbers.

Set to arrive next month, Scion‘s current best-selling model gets a Pioneer Display Audio system with a 7.0-inch touchscreen and voice recognition. In addition to AM/FM/HD radio, this new setup includes Bluetooth connectivity plus the Aha app that offers access to 100,000 Internet radio options. The tC also adds Smart Key with pushbutton start and a rear wiper along with silver-finish interior door handles, a revised center console tray cover and a leather-wrapped shift knob.

While Scion execs have remained fairly circumspect about revealing plans for the tC’s future, it’s believed the car will receive a major redesign for the 2017 model year. That makeover also could be accompanied by a name change.
