Yet another model, the 2016 Jaguar F-Type R AWD Coupe, will be added to the British automaker’s two-seater lineup during the Los Angeles Auto Show. Jaguar has offered up a preview of this latest upgrade by saying that its Instinctive All-Wheel-Drive system and Intelligent Driveline Dynamics will be standard issue on the range-topping F-Type R Coupe. In commenting on the new technology, Ian Hoban, Vehicle Line Director, Jaguar noted: "Our target with engineering the all-wheel-drive F-Type was to maintain the engaging rear-drive character that’s so important to Jaguar sports cars, yet offer even greater dynamic capability." This first-ever AWD F-Type promises to deliver better traction as well as offer a more confident feel regardless of road surfaces or conditions.

Jaguar also confirmed it has entered into a technical partnership with the British-based Bloodhound SSC (Super Sonic Car) team looking to set a new land speed record of 1,000 mph next year running on the Hakskeen Pan in South Africa which built by Richard Noble. Noble, a former LSR record holder, drove the 2016 Jaguar F-Type R AWD Coupe on the South African desert, showing off the car’s 3.9-second 0-60 mph capability and 186-mph top speed during a recent collaborative session to test the communication system to be used by the Bloodhound SSC group during its upcoming attempt. Andy Green, current LSR record holder at a modestly supersonic 763.035 mph set in the Thrust SSC, will pilot the Bloodhound SSC.
