Still cloaked in a fair amount of secrecy, the 2016 Chevy Malibu has made a second — and heavily disguised – official appearance prior to getting its reveal April 1. This time around, the automaker’s images show its redesigned mid-size sedan being bounced, soaked, baked, frozen and blown about while undergoing a series of durability tests at GM’s Milford Proving Ground. Already having endured more than 1.5 million miles of real-world hammering in environmental extremes that ranged from Yuma, Arizona, in July to Northern Canada in January, Dan Devine, Malibu validation engineer, promises the car will be ready to go when it does hit the showroom late this year.
