It’s now official; the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z06 will have its grand unveiling next month at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Chevy provided few details about the upcoming street-and-circuit Stingray variant, save for promising that it be the most track-capable Corvette ever. That bona fide supercar performance potential will be realized thanks to a selection of unique powertrain, chassis and aerodynamic enhancements.
If the past history is any precedent, expect the 2015 Corvette Z06 to arrive with well over 500 horsepower and feature plenty of lightweight carbon-fiber body bits as well as hard-core suspension tuning, huge brakes and super-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires. Production of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z06 is scheduled to start in late 2014.
