2014 Hyundai Equus teased

Set for a full reveal at New York Auto Show next month, the 2014 Hyundai Equus is getting a fairly comprehensive mid-cycle refresh that will include both cosmetic and functional enhancements. Save for a new alloy wheel design, the sole image released by the automaker provides few hints as to the specific changes that are in store for the flagship of its sedan fleet, although Hyundai says the revamping includes over 30 new or upgraded features.

In addition to any exterior cosmetic tweaks, Hyundai has confirmed that the 2014 Equus will boast a number of upgraded interior trim elements, new driver technology displays — which are expected to include a "head-up" component — and an expanded roster of safety features. On the recently-released Korean-spec Equus, that latter list now includes a surround-view camera, blind-spot detection system and a more effective smart cruise control, all of which would seem to be likely candidates for use in its American cousin, as well. The U.S. Equus also will boast improved ride and handling characteristics with revised vehicle-dynamics control systems.
