Mazda Motor Corp. makes Mazda cars and SUVs. The Japanese automaker has a global network of research and development and production sites. Irvine, California, is home to Mazda North American Operations. Beginning in January 2022, the Mazda CX-50 crossover SUV is the company’s first vehicle manufactured at Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA, a plant jointly constructed with Toyota Motor Corp. in Huntsville, Alabama.
Mazda says 100% of its products will be electrified by 2030, and all-electric vehicles will account for at least 25% of the lineup. Currently, the company’s list is limited to the Mazda CX-90 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and the all-electric Mazda MX-30, which is available only to California drivers but not past the 2023 model year.
Kelley Blue Book’s Best Cars lists often include Mazda models. For example, the 2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata ranked #1 in Best Convertibles and Best Sports Cars from mainstream brands.
