The mid-1970s were the true golden era for large cars, with the Buick Riviera and Electra, Lincoln Continental, Dodge Charger and Polara, Ford LTD and Thunderbird, Plymouth Gran Fury, Chevrolet Impala, Oldsmobile 98, and a host of others all well over 200 inches in length. The rulers of the roost, however, were the 1974-1976 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Sedan and Limousine, the longest regular-production cars ever produced at 252.2 inches long — that stretches more than two feet beyond the lengthiest SUV available in America today, but still about 14 inches short of today’s longest crew cab pickup trucks. That era ended with a global oil crisis that caused gas prices to skyrocket.
Today, SUVs stretch out nearly as far as the “land yacht” sedans of yesteryear. Still, they’re about twice as efficient despite being considerably taller, more powerful, and available with 4-wheel (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). In automotive terms, a lot has changed in the intervening half-century — and that’s not counting all the technology, safety, and feature upgrades that have evolved over the same period. Fun fact: Adjusted to 2025 dollars, the price of gasoline was around $3.82 per gallon at the peak of the 1970s fuel crisis; today’s average gas price in the United States (as of the publication date) is about $3.19.
If you’re looking for a large SUV, it’s on this list, as we’ve compiled every 2025 SUV beyond 200 inches in overall length. We’ve also included the cargo space available behind the first row as another point of comparison because some vehicles make more efficient use of their length than others, as well as total passenger volume. The prices listed are for the base models and include destination charges but do not include other mandatory fees like tax, title, or licensing.
Here are the largest SUVs for 2025.
1. 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL
Price: $132,795
Length: 228.5 inches
Cargo space: 125.2 cubic feet
Passenger space: 169.9 cubic feet
As the Escalade ESV is to the combustion Escalade, so the 2026 Escalade IQL is to the electric Escalade IQ. That means it’s the same vehicle with the same powertrain and capabilities, just a little longer with more cargo space on the same wheelbase. They also both share the latest in technology and Cadillac luxury features, like 126-color ambient lighting, a 55-inch full-width LED dashboard, AKG audio, and more. Second-row legroom is a spacious 41.4 inches, and the third row gets 36.7 inches of legroom. The Escalade IQL is nominally a 2026 model, but is ready for first deliveries this summer.

2. 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV
Price: $93,295
Length: 227.0 inches
Cargo space: 142.8 cubic feet
Passenger space: N/A
The largest production SUV you can buy new in America today (by length), the 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV is a genuine behemoth, and it makes good use of its interior space, too, dwarfing all but its platform mates, the GMC Yukon XL and Chevrolet Suburban, in terms of cargo room. For 2025, it gets a styling update inside and out, along with updated tech. If that weren’t enough, the Escalade ESV is also available with all-wheel drive, capable of towing up to 7,200 pounds, and is packed with luxurious materials, tech, and features.

3. 2025 Jeep Wagoneer L/Grand Wagoneer L
Price: $65,040/$96,945
Length: 226.7/226.7 inches
Cargo space: 130.9/112.9 cubic feet
Passenger space: 179.3/172.8 cubic feet
Just a fraction of an inch shorter than the Escalade ESV, the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer L is the next longest SUV you can buy. However, it offers about 8% less cargo volume— unless you opt for the luxurious Grand Wagoneer L, in which case, cargo space falls to about 80% of the Escalade ESV’s. The Wagoneer L and its luxurious alter ego, however, come with standard 4WD and the ability to tow up to 10,000 pounds.

4. 2025 Chevrolet Suburban
Price: $64,195
Length: 226.3 inches
Cargo space: 144.5 cubic feet
Passenger space: N/A
Less luxurious than the Escalade ESV but with slightly more cargo space, the 2025 Chevrolet Suburban can seat nine, offers three engine choices (including a diesel), and can tow up to 8,200 pounds. If you need maximum towing from your Suburban, you’ll get it with the 5.3-liter V8, but the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 is good for up to 26 mpg on the highway, making it a great big-SUV road-trip option. Also updated for 2025, the Suburban has a fresh look and new tech, but familiar powertrains and size.

5. 2025 GMC Yukon XL
Price: $72,395
Length: 225.2 inches
Cargo space: 144.5 cubic feet
Passenger space: N/A
Functionally identical to the Suburban, the 2025 GMC Yukon XL offers a different look and feel, as well as unique option packages, but is otherwise the same vehicle, with the same capabilities, as the Suburban and Escalade ESV. Likewise, it received a host of visual and technology updates as part of its midcycle refresh for 2025. In luxurious Denali Ultimate trim, the Yukon XL is every bit Cadillac’s rival, with massaging front seats, unique wood and aluminum trim, leather upholstery, 22-inch wheels, and other upgrades.

6. 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ
Price: $130,090
Length: 224.3 inches
Cargo space: 119.2 cubic feet
Passenger space: 161.9 cubic feet
The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is exactly what it sounds like, except not. It is a large, capable, luxurious Cadillac SUV that rides on a different, all-electric platform, but it’s just about as big and nearly as capacious. Also, the Escalade IQ nearly matches the fire-breathing Escalade V-Series’ 682-horsepower output with 680 hp of its own in Normal mode; however, hold tight, because the IQ can tap 750 hp from Velocity Max mode. The Escalade IQ offers similar second-row legroom to the IQL at 41.3 inches, but the third row loses about a half-foot off the longer iteration, with 30.1 inches of legroom.

7. 2025 Lincoln Navigator L
Price: $104,980
Length: 221.9 inches
Cargo space: 121.6 cubic feet
Passenger space: 172.1 cubic feet
As with the GM SUVs, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator L is essentially the luxury version of the Expedition MAX, and accordingly, it offers essentially identical space inside, although with much more luxurious appointments. All Navigator models come with 4-wheel drive, and the L model can tow up to 8,700 pounds. Third-row legroom in the Navigator L is remarkable at up to 43.5 inches — more than many vehicles’ second-row space and several inches more than the Suburban, Escalade ESV, or the Wagoneer L, as well as its platform mate, the Expedition MAX. The Navigator was also fully redesigned for 2025.

8. 2025 Ford Expedition MAX
Price: $66,995
Length: 221.7 inches
Cargo space: 121.5 cubic feet
Passenger space: 172.0 cubic feet
Ford’s entry into the full-size SUV world, the 2025 Ford Expedition MAX, isn’t the biggest out there, but it’s still enormous, with plenty of space for people and things. It’s also massively capable, stylish, and tech-forward while still being a strong value. Four-wheel drive is available, and the Expedition MAX can tow up to 9,600 pounds when properly configured. The Expedition MAX was fully redesigned for 2025.

9. 2025 Jeep Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer
Price: $62,040/$87,040
Length: 214.7 inches
Cargo space: 116.7/96.9 cubic feet
Passenger space: 179.2/172.8 cubic feet
The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer is the slightly shorter brother — by about 12 inches — to the Wagoneer L, with about 15 cubic feet less total cargo space, all of which lies behind the third row, meaning it’s just as spacious as the longer model as far as passengers are concerned. Three types of available 4-wheel drive, an optional automated parking system, and Quadra-Lift air suspension help make the Wagoneer a versatile, comfortable full-size SUV capable of going just about anywhere. The Wagoneer can also tow up to 10,000 pounds. As with the larger version, the Grand Wagoneer is a more luxurious variant with less cargo space, nearly 20% less in this case.

10. 2025 Cadillac Escalade
Price: $90,295
Length: 211.9 inches
Cargo space: 120.5 cubic feet
Passenger space: N/A
Notice a theme here? The 2025 Cadillac Escalade is the nameplate’s shorter variant, but still spacious, luxurious, and high-tech inside. Roomy 3-row seating, still ample cargo space, and an UltraView sunroof make the interior pleasant even when fully loaded. The 38-inch OLED display crossing the dash is as useful as it is gorgeous, and if the standard 19-speaker AKG audio system isn’t enough for you, consider the 36-speaker upgrade.

11. 2025 Infiniti QX80
Price: $84,445
Length: 211.2 inches
Cargo space: 101.0 cubic feet
Passenger space: 161.1 cubic feet
The 2025 Infiniti QX80 is all-new this year, with a fresh new look, a more powerful engine, and a completely redesigned cabin. The QX80’s 101.0 cubic feet of cargo volume is about six cubic feet more than the previous model, and Infiniti says there’s 18% more space behind the second row in the new model as well. The standard turbocharged V6 now makes 450 horsepower and 515 lb-ft of torque, putting the new QX80 near the head of the class in terms of power.

12. 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe
Price: $61,195
Length: 211.3 inches
Cargo space: 122.7 cubic feet
Passenger space: N/A
Essentially the shorter version of the Suburban, the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe‘s three rows of seating and ample cargo space come with the same range of available engines and solid towing capability — up to 8,400 pounds in Tahoe form. Those needing an off-roadable large SUV will appreciate the Z71 trim, with underbody protection, recovery hooks, and other off-road upgrades. In contrast, those seeking a taste of luxury will enjoy the available Bose audio, Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system, and other upgrades in the Premier and High Country trims. Like the Suburban, the Tahoe was substantially updated for 2025.

13. 2025 GMC Yukon
Price: $69,395
Length: 210.1 inches
Cargo space: 122.8 cubic feet
Passenger space: N/A
The 2025 GMC Yukon is to the Yukon XL as the Tahoe is to the Suburban, and like both of those models, it received a thorough midcycle update this year. The Yukon is GMC’s version of the Tahoe. However, as with the XL, the Denali and Denali Ultimate serve as GMC’s version of the Escalade, significantly ramping up the luxury, as well as the sticker price. For a full-size SUV with (or without) luxury features, seating for up to nine, the ability to tow up to 8,400 pounds, and a range of engines to choose from, the Yukon is a great all-arounder. Despite being nearly a foot shorter, it offers more cargo space than the Expedition MAX or Navigator L.

14. 2025 Ford Expedition
Price: $63,995
Length: 209.9 inches
Cargo space: 104.6 cubic feet
Passenger space: 171.9 cubic feet
Spacious and comfortable, the fully redesigned 2025 Ford Expedition proves you don’t have to be the biggest to be one of the best. Despite giving up a little cargo space to the Tahoe and Yukon, the Expedition’s rich interior, refined driving manners, and great all-around capability (available 4-wheel drive, up to 9,600 pounds towing capacity) have made it a multiyear KBB Best Buy Award Winner in the full-size SUV class.

15. 2025 Lincoln Navigator
Price: $101,990
Length: 210.0 inches
Cargo space: 107.0 cubic feet
Passenger space: 172.1 cubic feet
Like the extended version, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator is a luxurious, capable full-size SUV with excellent ride quality, an especially spacious second row, and standard 4-wheel drive. The Navigator was fully redesigned for 2025, with a whole host of new tech and luxury features. For those seeking more than ordinary luxury, consider the Black Label trim, with themed interior styles and luxury features like a spa-style experience with audio, visuals, and active recovery from the 24-way massaging power front seats, heated and ventilated seats in the first two rows, and more.

16. 2025 Nissan Armada
Price: $59,530
Length: 209.7 inches
Cargo space: 97.1 cubic feet
Passenger space: N/A
Developing the non-luxury version of a full-size SUV theme further is the 2025 Nissan Armada. The 2025 Armada has been fully redesigned, bringing it back into sync with its more luxurious corporate cousin, the QX80. The Armada’s standard 425-hp twin-turbocharged V6 helps the Armada tow up to 8,500 pounds, and the available 4-wheel-drive system combines with 9.6 inches of ground clearance to make the Armada solid off-road as well, provided it’s not too big for the trail.

17. 2025 Toyota Sequoia
Price: $64,370
Length: 208.1 inches
Cargo space: 86.9 cubic feet
Passenger space: N/A
All-new just a couple of years ago, the 2025 Toyota Sequoia carries forward with edgy style, lots of power, and strong towing ability, plus a new, more luxurious 1794 Edition. Last year, the TRD Off-Road package for the upscale Platinum trim was added. Serious off-roaders will prefer the range-topping TRD Pro model, but even the base SR5 gets a hybrid twin-turbocharged V6 engine that is good for 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque. Four-wheel drive is optional or standard with the TRD Pro.

Length: 207.6 inches
Cargo space: 97.5 cubic feet
Passenger space: N/A
The 2025 Buick Enclave takes a different tack than the SUVs we’ve seen so far on this list, skipping the heavy-duty, truck-like aspirations in favor of a more carlike demeanor. For 2025, it’s also fully redesigned. The comfort-focused Enclave comes with ample standard features, making it luxurious for the money. With 97.5 cubic feet of cargo space and 32.1 inches of third-row legroom, it makes fairly good use of its space.

Length: 204.5 inches
Cargo space: 97.6 cubic feet
Passenger space: 157.0 cubic feet
The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse was all-new last year. Like the Enclave, the Traverse doesn’t have a heavy-duty truck platform, yet it offers a comparable spacious cabin, potent engine, and versatile utility to a full-size SUV. New to the Traverse lineup with the all-new model is the Z71 version, which brings off-road themed performance and styling upgrades like those found on the brand’s Z71 full-size SUVs and trucks, including upgraded suspension, a skid plate, all-terrain tires, and increased ground clearance, as well as a multimode traction management system.

Like the Traverse, the Acadia offers an off-road package (AT4) and a more luxurious Denali upgrade, with features like a head-up display, 22-inch wheels, perforated leather seats, Galvano Silver exterior accents, and more. Whichever Acadia you choose, you’ll get a 15-inch screen with Google built-in.

It is available with a gas engine, a hybrid drivetrain, or a potent Hybrid Max drivetrain; the latter is rated for 362 hp and can tow up to 5,000 pounds. If you choose the standard hybrid in 2WD, the Grand Highlander can get up to 36 mpg combined.

Reborn with as much luxury as off-road ability, the new Defender 130 is a capable and comfortable SUV that can more than double in price as you climb the features and options range. At the base (P300), you have a 300-hp turbocharged 4-cylinder, while at the top (P500), there’s a 493-hp 5.0-liter V8. 24. 2025 Dodge Durango
Price: $40,490
Length: 200.8 inches
Cargo space: 85.1 cubic feet
Passenger space: 141.0 cubic feet
Technically a midsize SUV, the 2025 Dodge Durango is nonetheless a member of the 200-plus-inch club, if just barely. At 85.1 cubic feet of cargo space, it’s not the roomiest, but then, it doesn’t have to be. The Durango’s potent V8 engine options — including the high-performance SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat — make it fun and hugely capable, with 3.5-second zero-to-60-mph times and 8,700 pounds of towing capacity on the table.

25. 2025 Rivian R1S

The top-spec quad-motor models offer 1,025 hp and can hit 60 mph from a stop in just 2.5 seconds, but even the “base” model packs 533 hp and a 4.5-second zero-to-60-mph time. Did we mention the R1S is also great off-road, with up to 14.5 inches of ground clearance?

Honorable Mention
2025 Honda Pilot
Price: $41,650
Length: 199.9 inches
Cargo space: 87.0 cubic feet
Passenger space: 158.4 cubic feet
Just missing our cutoff by a literal tenth of an inch, the 2025 Honda Pilot is a fantastic all-around family vehicle with a spacious cabin, a smooth ride, and solid in-cabin tech. New this year is a more luxurious Black Edition at the top of the range, with all of the equipment of the Elite model plus enhanced aesthetics. The TrailSport offers a bit of ruggedness — and another 0.3 tenths of an inch in overall length, technically getting it over the 200-inch mark — but the Pilot’s clever cabin design and easy-driving manners make it a great daily companion.

Helpful Hints
If you are shopping for a large SUV for your family, here are some things to keep in mind before you buy.
Measure Your Garage and Driveway First
If you are moving up to a larger vehicle, make sure that the SUV will fit in your driveway or in your garage. Everything on this list is more than 16.5 feet long, topping out at nearly 19 feet long with the first SUV on the list. Also, take into account what else you store in your garage and whether the new SUV will fit next to or behind it.
Check Ease of Entry and Exit
Full-size SUVs ride higher than compact and midsize SUVs. If there are little ones in your household, you may want to consider getting a vehicle equipped with running boards, power-deploying side steps, or an adjustable air suspension that can be lowered for entry and exit.
Consider Power or Hands-Free Liftgates
It isn’t easy to carry groceries and sports equipment to your SUV while getting a kid — or kids — into the vehicle. Power liftgates that work with the fob or the swing of your foot can make multitasking easier.
