Style is equal to substance. The 2019 TT offers a particular combination of talents that no other rival can really match, all wrapped up in an arguably attractive package. Don’t underestimate the daily thrill of walking up to a TT, clicking it open, climbing in and pressing the ignition button.
All-wheel drive and an automatic transmission are deal-breakers. A traditional enthusiast seeking rear-wheel drive and a manual transmission will have to forgo the TT’s design approach, but the BMW 2 Series or Porsche 718 Boxster/Cayman could be the right kinds of thrill machines.
