"I bought this car used in 2005. It already had 35,000 miles, now it has 97,000 miles so I've put some wear and tear on it. It was a good little car at first. I expected a lot out of it since it was only 4 years old. Needless to say, my expectations were way too high. 1.) My anti-lock breaks started going out. If I was driving my car down a steep hill there would be two or three full seconds that my breaks would go out completely. Since a new set of anti-lock breaks would cost more than the car is worth, I just had the ABS unplugged so I have standard break system. This also causes three lights on my dashboard to light up constantly. 2.) I went through two batteries for this car in less than two years. My AC compressor was not working correctly, causing my battery to run down. This too would cost almost as much as the cars KBB value to fix. 3.) The cars exterior must be made out of aluminum because it crushes like a soda can. A bird flying into my fender costed as much as $2,000 to fix the "right way" including a new (yes NEW) passenger front fender and paint. 4.) My car will periodically take spells where it just doesn't want to start. I've had this checked out by a mechanic too and it evidentally can't be explained. 5.) I have had to have the sunroof repaired twice. Both times it opened and wouldn't close. Now I just don't use it at all. 6.) Not just major things, but minor things like my AC vents breaking all the time and my cup holders being in the way of the temperature and radio controls. I'm short, only 5'1" tall and I am constantly hitting my head on the roof of the car. I can't imagine how a tall person could get in and out comfortably. This car is excellent on gas and has been an ok car I guess. Problem after problem just gets annoying. If it was a little younger and had a little less miles, this car would probably be an nice starter car."

"I bought my 2001 Sunfire Coupe SE 7 years ago. In 7 years I have put 104000 miles on it & enjoyed it very much. I bought the car because I needed a dependable ride. I would drive to see my Military husband on base as often as I could. I put 80000 mi on the car in those years. So far the only work I had to do to it was to replace the fuel pump. Warranty covered it. Naturally I have to take care of oil changes, brake work, and other routine maintence... most of the time ;þ Oh, I had a sensor go out about 6mo ago. 80$ and I was all fixed. I now have 2 kids in the backseat of my coupe & still love it. There is room enough for all of us w/o feeling too cramped.. even with my kids riding rear facing till they were 3yo. (since AAP says to rf to the limist of the seats because rear facing is safer!) The interior has held up amazingly well, the engine still runs strong, the car is in great shape overall. I dont have any blind spots either! The only downside I have is I feel like I'm in the smallest car on the road... so i dont feel extremely safe doing 70mph next to the bigger SUV's & Trucks. I do love my car, its been a great car for me."
