"It's a comfortable reliable van. It has never had any major mechanical problems in the 5 years I've had it. I really recommend this car if you have a chance to buy one. It's very big and spacious."

"bad brakes from day one. rotors replaced at 3000, 9000 and 15000 miles. steering rack blew its seals at 21000. transmission never downshifts to a stop properly or smoothly. heater fan failed at 23000. interior and exterior trim pieces keep falling off. side door locks failed. lots of exterior noise sneaks in with several nagging rattles. local dealership has fouled up numerous service calls in and out of warranty, forgetting to install parts on the last brake service, claims nothing's wrong with transmission and even damaged the vehicle on the lift rack. 2nd Caravan we've owned (first was a '96) and this is the last ANYTHING I will buy made by Chrysler Corp, or any firm making cars/vans/trucks with them (yes, you Volkswagen)"

"bought van new in 2001. from the first week we owned it, the problems began. most had to do with the steering/front suspension. we have kept it for 8 years because it is handy transportation, and because the resale value tanked overnight. we have spent over 20% of the price we had paid for it new on maintenance and repairs. it appears to be engineered to discourage moderate do-it-yourself repairs. the good thing about purchasing an early 2000 mopar van now, is that due to their rapidly declining values, they sould be cheap to buy, although not maintain."
