What Is a Rear Sunshade?

Rear sunshade switch.

A rear sunshade is a power-retractable screen that blocks light and heat from the cabin. A rear sunshade is made from a tinted or finely perforated screen that doesn’t obscure the driver’s rear view while shielding outside glare.

Passengers can manually deploy sunshades on the rear-door windows for the same protection as needed. This is generally an optional feature. See also panoramic sunroof and power windows.
