"I bought my 2006 Scion xA brand new in 2006. I paid $14,400 for it. Today, over 6 years later, my car is still worth over $10,000. Add to that the fact that it has never needed a single repair and I think it's pretty safe to say you really get your money's worth with a Scion. They are made by Toyota and I will never leave the Toyota family. I could not be happier with my purchase. I will never understand why people pay $20,000 or more for American-made cars when they can get a much more reliable car for much less money. Did I mention the gas mileage??? I've gotten over 40mpg if I drive conservatively. I think the least I've ever gotten was 30mpg in horrible traffic. It averages about 35mpg with city and highway driving. My 2006 Scion xA has a great Pioneer audio system which came standard, a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine which has taken me on many roadtrips with no problems (and no stopping for gas), and tons of head and leg room for such a small car. I drove my friend's Chevy Cobalt once and my head was touching the ceiling. I have plenty of room in my Scion. Overall, it is an awesome car; I highly recommend it."

Pros: "mileage, cost, size, audio jack"

Cons: "manual in traffic, no auto unlock"

"Bought my car in 2007 and have had no problems. Its my commuter car and the mileage is great, backseat is actually pretty spacious and hatchback suits my needs. My only complaint is that I wish I would have paid for the automatic unlocks when I bought it. Also, during bad weather you definitely have to have both hands on the wheel. Stereo is great, mine has the audio jack for Ipods, kindles or whatever and I use it all the time. Would definitely buy another Scion. its also great for parking in the city, I can park just about anywhere!"

Pros: "fun, low maintenance, great milage, hatchback"

Cons: "no cruise control, some problems with paint"

"This car, lovingly named Fenwick, is wonderful. I have had it since it pulled off the lot in 2004; it has been my only car since then, and we have crossed the country together 5 times, as well as driven on a commute with lots of traffic. I love the car! The maintenance has been ideal. Other than oil changes and expected maintenance I've had no problems. Fenwick even had a tree fall on him in a storm and other than some scratches, he shrugged it off. The looks of the car are nice too. He's very distinctive, making it easy to find in the parking lot. In fact, people walk up to me to ask about my car! The hatchback is a huge boon. I have a dog and being able to just open the back and reach in without bending over is wonderful. This is true for both dog and groceries! Also, I've found through experiences with friends it's incredibly helpful for people with babies, nice flat space is built right in. It's not a big car, driving 4 people with luggage to the airport gets interesting, but considering his small size and maneuverability I have been impressed with how much I can pack in. Also, I live in a city, and the compact frame is wonderful for street parking. It's also a super easy car to drive. great visibility and very basic. I've loaned him to friends who say the same thing. The milage has been one of my favorite parts. About 32m/g in the city and 38 on the highway. Lots of new cars don't get that! But yes, there are cons, two of them. First, the paint on the hood started chipping off right away. Nothing big, but if you're washing up the car, and inclined to notice any little spot (I am) you can see little chips of the paint. The other con is no cruise control. Perhaps it was an option, but my car doesn't have it. And that's it! If you are looking for a compact, fun car you will LOVE, I couldn't recommend this one more highly."
