Saturn Outlook

Saturn Outlook

About Saturn Outlook

The 2009 Saturn Outlook is part of a family of three-row crossover vehicles that include the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse. For most families, the Outlook offers all the relevant capability of GM's three-row, truck-based SUVs, but with better ride and handling, easier entry and exit and better fuel economy. The Outlook and its GM brethren appear poised for unprecedented success in a category pioneered by the now-defunct Chrysler Pacifica and still competitive Ford Taurus X, not to mention the all-new Ford Edge.

"We are a family of 7 so when we were shopping for a new car we knew we didn't want a van and we wanted something that seated 8, which is hard. We also needed something that would get us around in the snow because at the time we lived in WV. We like the seating capacity, everyone is comfortable, the seats in the middle move back and forth for leg room. The storage capacity when third row is up is larger than any other of this type. It is easy to get in the third row. We have 4 still in boosters so this was important. All around excellent family car!"

Cons: "resale value 1/3 of purchase price"

"I am sickened by the way this vehicle has lost so much value since we purchased it in 2007. it is a great vehicle and still fully supported by General Motors. I even still get all the notices and vehicle updates in a Saturn envelope printed on Saturn letterhead. I bought this truck because of it's safety record and the price compared to the other similar GM products. I wish Saturn was still around as I am looking for a more practical car now that our children are grown, but I will drive this one until the wheels fall off and that works for me also."

Pros: "Spacious interior, price is good, AWD is solid"

Cons: "Electrical gremlins now and then, a known issue..."

"First, Saturn made great cars. The Outlook is great for us. My only issues are with some of the interior materials. The buttons for the environmental's started to lose their coatings, so not sure if it was surface prep or just poor paint/coating quality. As far as mechanical items, there were some issues, but they were all recall items. The water pump failed but they replaced it. They extended the warranty on the drive train in case the wave plate fails. The interior is still in good shape. The paint is good where we haven't run into things to scratch it up. no real issues and we have had it from Colorado to Florida to the Northeast. Blizzards, hurricanes, etc. Just changed the brake pads and rotors. That means we got over 100 THOUSAND MILES out of them."
