The redesigned 2026 Hyundai Palisade stretches out longer and roomier than its predecessor, making Hyundai’s largest vehicle a compelling 3-row SUV for families. Aside from a roomier third row and more cargo room, some clever family-friendly features encourage us to recommend it to shoppers. Here’s a look at our five favorite features.

Refined Cockpit

The redesigned Palisade features a more open, roomier cockpit. Hyundai relocated the gear selector from the console to the steering column, similar to its electric vehicles. This opens up much more space in front. Hyundai also redesigned the dash to accommodate standard twin 12.3-inch displays under a single pane of glass that curves toward the driver. A shallow shelf above the glove box lets passengers stow a phone or other device. A separate panel for climate controls keeps the most immediate, everyday functions simple. In a step toward luxury, Hyundai graces the top Calligraphy model with wood trim and leather upholstery.

Smart Console Storage

Second-row passengers are treated to equally thoughtful considerations as their front-seat counterparts. A secondary button on the upper left of the passenger seat enables rear passengers or the driver to adjust that seat if it’s unoccupied to optimize second-row space. There’s also a handy USB-C port in the rear of the seat to power devices. Additionally, the deep center console doubles as a storage cubby that opens up to rear passengers to stow devices, snacks, and other items. The door pockets also have a slot to hold phones that we wish every 3-row SUV had.

Power-Sliding Second Row Seats

Most trims of the Hyundai Palisade have second-row seats that slide and tilt forward with the push of a button. Even kids can press the button on the seat top to activate it, as long as they can reach it. Top trims, such as the Calligraphy pictured here, have an array of functions to enhance comfort for passengers in the seat or for accessing the third row. A single-press feature slides the seat forward while tilting it and raising the rear up for the easiest access to the back, but it takes some time. In 7-seat configurations, there’s enough room between the captain’s chairs to walk down the aisle to the third row. Also of note, child safety seats can remain in place as the second-row captain’s chairs slide and tilt.

Comfy Enough Third-Row Accommodations

Third-row passengers have more than 32 inches of legroom, but they may need to negotiate with second-row passengers to move up their seats for more toeroom. Still, for our 5-foot-9 adult tester, the third row afforded good enough headroom and shoulder space to fit two adults in the way back. Those passengers also get two cupholders on both sides, and most trims have USB-C ports back there to stay connected or disconnect from family life.

5-Year/60,000-Mile Warranty

Peace of mind goes a long way for every car owner, and Hyundai’s 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain and hybrid systems warranty lead the industry. The standard warranty package includes five years of roadside assistance and 3-year/36,000-mile scheduled maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
