Toyota marked the start of the Toyota Camry’s ninth generation in 2025 with the first hybrid-only Camry. After that change and a refreshed look, the Toyota Camry is back with a few light updates. The 2026 Toyota Camry gets a bold new Nightshade Edition — practically, a package of dark decorative add-ons for the SE trim.

1. Sporty Exterior
The recent Toyota Camry redesign looked very sleek, sporty, and a bit upscale, making it more competitive in style against rivals like the Honda Accord and Kia K5. The Nightshade Edition features a darker theme, with blacked-out trim and 19-inch alloy wheels. It gives a bold, new, sporty, and edgy perspective to a sedan that’s been around since most of us can remember. The Camry also comes in a new color option, Dark Cosmos, which is a hazy blue tone. It’s a nice addition to the Camry family sedan.
2. Modern Connectivity
The Toyota Camry comes equipped with standard Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s easy to overlook this feature because many modern cars come with it standard. But a few exceptions, like the Nissan Altima, keep wireless systems optional. The Camry comes standard with an 8-inch infotainment screen and a 7-inch digital gauge. XLE and XSE trims feature a standard 12.3-inch central display. If you choose the SE and Nightshade trims, the bigger screen is optional. Whether it’s the 8-inch or 12.3-inch display, both are easy to use.
3. Safety Features
A family sedan wouldn’t be a good buy without great safety features. The Toyota Camry comes with standard Lane-Departure Alert with Steering Assist, a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The ninth-generation Camry earned the Top Safety+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the top 5-Star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). These honors alone prove why the Toyota Camry is such a great family vehicle.
