The spacious, well-equipped, affordable 2025 Kia Telluride offers amazing value, ranking among the top choices in its segment. With three rows of seating for up to eight passengers, plus good looks, lots of tech, and the industry’s best warranty, it’s easy to see why the Telluride won our Best 3-Row Midsize SUV of 2024 title.
Passenger Room and Comfort
Three rows of seating are standard, with the base LX and midrange EX models offering a second row bench and eight total seats as standard, while S and SX models (pictured above) get second-row captain’s chairs for a total of seven seats. The captain’s chair layout is optional on EX models. Regardless, every seating position gets a cup holder in the Telluride.
How spacious is the third row? Even average-sized adults can fit, making it one of the roomier offerings around. It’s easy to access the third row, too. There’s plenty of leg and headroom throughout the cabin, and the seats are comfortable and supportive.
Features and Tech
The Telluride packs lots of other thoughtful tech, including a rear seat alert, which notifies the driver if something (or someone) is left in the back at the end of a drive. Additionally, the Driver Talk system pipes the driver’s voice through the rear speakers for better communication, even for potential troublemakers seated in the third row.
On the infotainment front, the touchscreen is an impressively large 12.3 inches, which improves the use of the navigation as well as Android Auto/Apple CarPlay due to the real estate the screen offers. However, for those who need to power up, there are five USB ports scattered around the SUV, and that’s supplemented with a wireless charging pad in some models.
When you move into the higher trim levels, the 6-speaker standard audio system gets upgraded to a 10-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system. The Harman Kardon system can be used with Quiet Mode, which allows the front-seat passengers to hear what’s playing but shuts off the remaining speakers so those riding in the back can be left undisturbed or listen to personal devices.
Standard safety features are also abundant: Forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane departure assist, lane keeping assist, safe exit assistance, and rear parking sensors are all included on every Kia Telluride.
In addition to the entertainment and navigation tech, Telluride offers its Digital Key 2 on the SX level and higher trims. This technology allows authorized users to access the vehicle using their smartphones or smartwatches.
Materials and Design
Materials are impressive throughout the Telluride range, with quality-feeling plastics and plush upholstery, whether simulated or genuine. The look and feel throughout the cabin range from classy mainstream at the more affordable end to luxurious yet value-packed at the top.
Those looking to upgrade the Telluride beyond its generous base specification can opt for the EX, which adds real leather upholstery, power-folding side mirrors, heated/ventilated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, and more. SX trims get dual power sunroofs for the first and second rows, making for a bright, airy cabin.
Cargo Room and Flexibility
The Kia Telluride is not only spacious for its seven or eight passengers, but it also has plenty of room for gear or cargo. There’s 21 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 46 cubic feet behind the second row and, if you fold both rows flat, you get a maximum of 87 cubic feet of cargo space.
The second row’s choice of a bench seat or individual captain’s chairs offers added configurability, and the ease of access to all three rows makes it practical for those who actually move that many people around regularly. The blocky, squared-off exterior also makes for a very handy layout of the space within the cargo area.
