A Look Inside the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee

When you think about do-it-all SUVs, the first vehicle that should come to mind is the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The original “luxury” ute, the Grand Cherokee can now be had in three different iterations: the 2-row Grand Cherokee, the 3-row Grand Cherokee L, and the plug-in hybrid Grand Cherokee 4xe. We’ll be covering the 2-row model here.

The 2-row Grand Cherokee comfortably seats five passengers. It features a slew of new technology, high-end materials, and a strong powertrain. It can be had in one of nine trim packages, with the Laredo A acting as the base model and the Summit Reserve exceeding $65,000 at the top end.

It’s powered by a 3.6-liter V6 putting out 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Properly equipped, the Jeep Grand Cherokee will tow up to 6,200 pounds.

The big benefit to the Grand Cherokee is that, like all Jeeps, it’s trail-rated, which means it’s ready to head off-road at a moment’s notice. Unlike many of its competitors, the Grand Cherokee can tackle some tough terrain while being outfitted to feel like a luxury vehicle on the inside.

Let’s see what the Jeep Grand Cherokee offers inside.

Passenger Room and Comfort

The Grand Cherokee offers plenty of space for five, in seats that are impressively comfortable and high quality. If you’re a second-row passenger, you get 38.2 inches of legroom and a contoured bench seat that make for a spacious, relaxing spot to travel.

Not only is it plenty big enough for growing teenagers, but you can even accommodate three child car seats on the bench. Overall, the passenger space is about the norm for this segment, but with available amenities like heated and cooled seats, quad-zone climate control, and an impressive array of convenience technology, the Grand Cherokee is a good place for a long ride.

Features and Tech

Much hubbub about the Grand Cherokee’s laudable interior stems from its impressive list of available features. Many of them come when you move to the top of the lineup for the Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve trim levels.

With available 16-way power seats complete with memory presets and massage modes, the Grand Cherokee starts off on the right foot. However, that’s supplemented by the multicolor ambient LED lighting system and a pair of can’t-miss-them digital screens: a 10.1-inch touchscreen for the driver — tied to Uconnect 5 — and segment-first 10.25-inch front-passenger interactive display.

Of course, having two options for quality audio doesn’t hurt. Starting with an Alpine 9-speaker system, which is optional in Limited and standard in Overland, is an excellent upgrade over the standard 6-speaker setup. The 19-speaker McIntosh system available in the Overland and Summit models is one of the best sound systems we’ve tested.

Additionally, there’s the wireless charging pad, the ability to connect two Bluetooth-enabled phones at the same time, 4G Wi-Fi, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital rearview mirror, and enhanced Amazon Alexa capability.

The safety and convenience tech can include a surround-view monitor, head-up display, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, full-speed Forward Collision Warning, Drowsy Driver Detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, and more.

Materials and Design

The Grand Cherokee is offered in nine trim levels. You can get black cloth seats and simple black soft-touch black seats in the base Laredo A and begin moving up from there in terms of materials and niceties.

Those upgrades include a shift to leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, as well as the aforementioned 16-way adjustable front seats with power lumbar and memory. If you get into the top-tier Summit and Summit Reserve packages, they offer driver and front passenger seat back massage. Heated/ventilated seats are available in the first two rows, with three-level configurable controls.

The LED lighting system enjoys standard daytime and nighttime settings on all trims, and once you get into the Overland trim, owners can choose from one of five colors to set the mood while driving.

Cargo Room and Flexibility

The Grand Cherokee’s flexibility further impresses when it comes to its cargo space. There is 37.7 cubic feet of space behind the split bench seat, which allows for a couple of large suitcases and two sets of golf clubs.

The rear seats, which split 60/40, allow you to bring longer items while still bringing an additional passenger. And when you fold both seats, you get an impressive 70.8 cubic feet of usable cargo space.
