Here’s What You Get on a Fully Loaded 2026 Nissan Leaf

The Nissan Leaf is all-new for 2026, and this third-generation model is better than ever. Nissan’s groundbreaking electric vehicle – yeah, the one that beat the Tesla Model S to the market back when it debuted 15 years ago – brings fantastic new design and the latest tech and safety features. Perhaps best of all, it touts two things many EV shoppers have been desiring: A low starting price and long range. A base Nissan Leaf begins at $31,485, including destination fee, and has the longest range of the lineup with 303 miles.

Those traits alone make even the entry-level Leaf S Plus a desirable model, but what about shoppers wanting an expanded roster of creature comforts and extra goodies? Then look to the topline 2026 Nissan Leaf Platinum Plus. This top model is a great value by EV standards, packing a ton of content. Here are some of the highlights .

Head-Turning Design

We liken this all-new Nissan Leaf to an automotive Cinderella story in terms of design. Where the first two generations were rather frumpy hatchbacks, the 2026 Nissan Leaf has more of an SUV-ness to it. Whatever one classifies it as, the new Nissan Leaf looks great.

We’re particularly fond of the two-tone Seabreeze Blue Pearl and black roof color option. It really pops. Unique to the Platinum Plus model are Nissan’s 3D signature taillights. It’s a small detail that makes a big visual statement, with the horizontal lines giving off Nissan Z vibes.

Inside, you can also choose hues that make a statement if you opt for the Light Gray TailorFit seats with Deep Cobalt accents. Seeing those vibrant swaths of blue on the seats, steering wheel, and dash can be a treat every time you step into the car.

Excellent Technology

The top trim of the Nissan Leaf also brings the most robust infotainment, tech, and audio systems. It begins with dual 14.3-inch screens, one serving as the digital instrument cluster, and the other handling infotainment duties. The panels are wide and connected, appearing as one sleek unit that spans the dash.

In addition to wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, this top model features Google built-in, Google Maps, and Google Assistant. This system harnesses the power of Google for whatever you need while on the road.

Then there’s the Bose audio system exclusive to this trim. It’s the best-sounding version, with 10 speakers and even the ability to customize what you hear to your individual ears and tastes.

Practicality in a Tidy Package

As a subcompact electric vehicle, the Nissan Leaf is tidy in size, yet it makes the most of its interior space. Up front, it feels roomier than you’d expect thanks to design touches like using buttons for the transmission. While rear legroom is on the tight side, we appreciate that rear air vents are included in this trim.

With its rear lifting door, the Leaf continues to provide hatchback practicality. Behind the rear seats is an ample 20 cubic feet of storage, and that number expands to 55.5 with the seats folded – that’s in line with some SUVs a class size up. Even better, this trim includes Nissan’s handy Divide-N-Hide cargo system with adjustable floor panels. For even more convenience, this is the trim to get if you want a power liftgate – that’s hands-free, no less.
