The all-electric 2024 Porsche Macan EV heralds a new departure for this luxury compact SUV with a driver’s edge. Pricing starts at $64,895.
Instead of creating a different name, Porsche has kept the Macan moniker and applied it to both this freshly minted electric vehicle (EV) and the regular gasoline-powered counterpart (which is reviewed separately). Being a Porsche, the Macan EV promises to be rapid on the road. Luckily, as we’ve also found with the Taycan electric sedan, it’s pretty zippy when connected to a DC fast charger as well.
This particular model brings a whole different method of Macan propulsion as Porsche forges ahead with its intention to produce more electric vehicles. Like the Taycan sedan, the company says the Macan EV provides driving thrills typical of Porsche. It’s built on its own platform, which has a slightly longer wheelbase than the gasoline Macan.
Order books for the 2024 Macan EV are open now, with deliveries beginning in the second half of 2024.
The 2025 Porsche Macan has a starting sticker price of $64,895, with the range-topping Macan GTS kicking off at $90,995. But Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Pricing currently suggests paying $2,502 to $3,913 less than MSRP, depending on trim and equipment. These prices are updated weekly.

Rivals tend to cost less. The Audi Q4 e-tron starts in the $50K region, and the Genesis GV60 is more like $60K. Even though it’s not a true luxury EV, the 576-horsepower Kia EV6 GT is fantastic to drive and costs about $62K. For reference, the gasoline-powered Macan starts at around $61K.
Before buying a new Macan electric SUV, check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to know what you should be paying. Porsche usually enjoys robust resale values, and so do electric vehicles. Therefore, a Porsche electric vehicle should be great at retaining its worth. Recouping more money when you sell or trade a vehicle can mean a bigger down payment and lower monthly payments on your next one.
With launch control engaged, the Macan 4 develops a substantial 402 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from a standstill to 60 mph takes only 4.9 seconds. Incidentally, the most powerful gasoline Macan, the GTS, has 434 horsepower (and costs about $9.5K more). The Macan 4 doesn’t leave everything else in the dust, though. For example, the Genesis GV60 Advanced AWD can do the same sprint almost a half-second quicker and with 314 horsepower.
Although the Macan Turbo doesn’t actually have a turbocharger (think of the Turbo name as more of a Porsche sub-brand denoting higher performance), it can still generate considerable muscle: 630 horsepower and 833 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful vehicle to carry the Macan name. It will hit 60 mph in a mere 3.1 seconds. Both versions qualify as quick, but the Turbo should be fierce. All-wheel drive is standard, created by dual electric motors in each variant.
This new Macan is the first to offer the option of rear-wheel steering. This is one of those win-win items where agility is enhanced through the curves while maneuverability in tight spaces is also improved. Every Macan EV comes with an adaptive air suspension, bringing a broad choice of settings from comfortable to sporty.
Porsche offers the choice of a leather-free cabin among its many and varied cabin options. The dashboard can house up to three displays. The standard 12.6-inch instrument cluster and 10.9-inch central touchscreen are set into one curved unit. The front passenger can also have their optional 10.9-inch touchscreen. Other technology includes augmented reality for the navigation system. Behind the rear seats is 19 cubic feet of luggage space (a little more than the gasoline Macan), opening up to 47.6 cubic feet when they’re folded down. An extra stowage area of 2.9 cubic feet is under the hood. For reference, the Genesis GV60’s cargo capacities range from 24 to 54.7 cubic feet.
The Macan EV sports its own look, with headlights similar to the Taycan and Panamera cars. It’s also a whisker over two inches longer overall than its combustion counterpart, although the wheelbase (the distance between the front and rear axles) is 3.4 inches longer. The entire shape is virtually as aerodynamic as a Toyota Prius.
At the time of compiling this review, Porsche had yet to give any estimates on how far the Macan EV can travel on a single full battery charge. We’ll update this piece when more information becomes available. In the meantime, we’d say expect at least 250 miles. And it turns out that the Taycan sedan usually fares better in real-life driving than Porsche’s conservative estimate of 246 miles, so we wouldn’t be surprised if there was a similar situation with the new Macan EV.
The company has given us an idea of how brief the charging process can be. Using a DC fast charger, battery capacity goes from 10% to 80% in around 21 minutes — as quick as the Taycan and pretty much where the EV bar is set at this point. When using a 400-volt charger, a clever feat of configuration splits the 800-volt architecture into two 400-volt entities for optimum charging efficiency.
