The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class offers plenty of interior room for passengers without the bulk of some full-size luxury SUVs. The AMG GLS63 (reviewed separately) adds a performance twist not found with the Audi Q7 or Infiniti QX60.
For less money, you can find similarly luxurious SUVs with the same or better power and feature set, just not the lofty name. A GMC Acadia Denali or Volkswagen Atlas might do, as would an Acura MDX. Those who need more room and towing ability might look to the Lincoln Navigator or Cadillac Escalade.
