What Owners are Saying About the 2003 MAZDA Protege5
"It's a great car!"
"Handles very well, strong brakes, great flat cornering, tight turning circle and decent gas mileage at about 30 mpg.Not one problem since new.Oil changes, new belts and brakes finally at 60K last week,is all it's ever asked for."
"Reliable and sporty"
"Great car and always reliable. Been so cheap to own with really no major repairs. However if there is anything negative to be said about this car, the tires are an odd size and difficult to get, if you do find them, you only get 3 brands or so. The non turbo is not as fast as most cars, but the gas mileage more than makes up for it. With about a 13 gallon tank I always get 7 days between fillups. Thats just to and from work for me. I am super pleased with this car."
"Best car that sadly Mazda will never repeat!"
"I bought this car in April 2003 brand new. I regret not getting it in manual, but I can't complain. I added leather! 1)Florida is hot most of the year and a working AC is a MUST. I've never had to do anything to this car's AC in 18 years!...and it still blows COLD AIR. 2)The moon/sun roof has never leaked water and works as good as the 1st day. In reality, I've only done tires (with rotation/alignment, balance), a couple of batteries, air filters, oil changes and one radiator. The cargo space has been great for my wife and I. Even on a couple of occasions when we had to go to IKEA, we were able to fold the rear seats and fit everything. If you're fortunate enough to buy one used w/low miles and from a person that treated it well...you'll NEVER regret purchasing it!"
