I am just turning 70 with some physical problems like sciatica and lower back pain. I am about 5'6"tall. I have been looking for a small hatchback for about a year and test drove about 8-9 cars that fit the bill. For ME the priorities were 1. Seat comfort 2. Ability to see over stearing wheel 3. Roominess for errands at home lumber stores, etc 4. Clearance off the ground---ie. some cars hit curb when parking 5. Fun to drive 6. Last but not least: price under $25k There are a number of cars that have better gas mileage and equal roominess, but only one other of them had seats with power assisted drivers seat and lumbar support because they cater to a younger crowd. Kia hit the mark with this car for my age group as well as younger with all the cool technology. It is easy to get in and out of, is peppy enough to pass if needed, has plenty of room, tight enough handling and VERY comfortable. Could have a little better gas milage, but not the make or break feature for me. The warranty is great as well. I love this car every time I get in it!

Critical Review
The engine on my 2017 Kia Soul + seized. All of my maintenance was up to date. The Kia service department wants to charge me $6,000 for repairs. I am the second owner of the vehicle. Kia won't back their own product. There is no warranty coverage. So now I have an expressive lump of metal... Last Kia I will ever buy (was my second).

Head room, leg room is spacious even with passengers. Fuel mileage is good. Plenty of get up and go performance. Styling exterior and quality interior. Comfortable seats, a roomie size cargo are. I, do like the stereo with navigation. Lot's of positive things about these subcompact vehicles.

I'm glad I have this affordable car. Easy to get in and out. Spacious vehicle for being a small size car. The fuel mileage is efficient and the performance is quick enough. Comfortable seats heated, plus cooled. Really nice full size sunroof. Stereo system is pretty cool infinity. Reliable, good quality.

Reliable Value Quality Comfort Performance
I, can't afford much right now. This subcompact car fits my budget. I, will someday upgrade to a newer one. My car is getting me around, and having decent fuel mileage. It's actually a nice ride with comfortable seats. A fun stereo with navigation and other things. The cargo area is good with folding down rear seats. Good overall reliable pre-owned car warranty.

I'm impressed owning this smaller car type. It's a fun car to drive, also affordable. The fuel mileage is efficient. Sporty design with nice quality leather interior. Fun to use stereo system with navigation etc. I, like the rear folding down seats for the cargo area. Reliability is strong, good resale value. The experience having this car is super good.

Affordable, Value, Styling, Reliable, Comfort
That's how popular they are, especially in this crazy economy. These small vehicles are affordable, they do well reliability. They also get pretty good fuel mileage. The service upkeep is cheaper. Small compact size car with comfy seats, plenty of room space. As for myself, I am enjoying my car. I, did do a few upgrades like front window tint, and a luggage rack installed.
