The 2016 Kia Forte lineup expands this year with the addition of a new lower-end LX model for the 2016 Forte5 hatchback. Additionally, all LX models get standard keyless entry. Other changes include navigation available on the EX Premium Package, upgraded audio and a few new colors and wheels.
After a complete redesign last year, the 2015 Kia Forte lineup gets slightly better fuel economy in LX and EX sedans. Additionally, the rear backup camera is now optional as part of the $900 UVO package, rather than a standard feature on EX models.
About Kia Forte Koup
2016 Kia Forte is one of the most comprehensive compact-car lineups you'll find. With 4-door
coupe or 5-door
hatchback body styles, a surprising amount of features, and an available 201-horsepower turbocharged engine, the 2016 Forte comes in almost any flavor you want. There's the inexpensive Forte LX 4-door sedan, which won't leave you feeling shortchanged. The sporty Forte Koup is a 2-door model available with a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder that makes 201 horsepower. The Forte5 hatchback offers a cargo-friendly, Euro-look hatchback, and is available with the turbocharged engine. It's a strong lineup when pitted against the
Toyota Corolla and
Ford Focus, and it makes picking a good
compact car that much harder.
Pros: "Dependable, fun driving, bigger on the inside"
Cons: "Floor mat wore a hole"

"I'll start with the only thing negative I could say: The driver's floor mat wore through under my right foot.
This is a great car if you are looking for a compact sedan. Design is subjective, but I find it is very appealing, inside and out. I drove a new Corolla (2010) for three years before I had this, and the Forte is superior in every way. Very peppy, corners well, good MPG. This car is comfortable both around town and on long highway trips. It is roomy for a compact car--I am 6 foot tall, both my teenage sons are within 2 inches, and my family of four can be comfortable around town in the Forte. Bluetooth works well, backup camera is great. I have had absolutely no reason to go back to the dealership in two years--this car has performed flawlessly. The stock 17 inch tires didn't last very long, but most OEM tires don't. I was able to replace all four at a local shop for about $500. No other maintenance has been required, other than oil changes."
"Bought the Forte in June and so far been very happy with it. Comfortable ride with good mileage (I drive mostly hwy and get 32mpg-33mpg). ECO mode performance is sluggish and I typically get about the same mileage with it on or off so I'm leaving it off. Roomy interior including the back seat & trunk.
Minor annoyances: The "lip" between the trunk and the folded down back seats isn't flat across. The windshield wipers - very large on driver side throws water onto passenger side plus a very irritating engineering flaw where they don't 100% overlap right down at the bottom of the windshield. (This is being very picky, but it makes me wonder if there are other things that were "good enough")."
Cons: "Auto lights need to come on sooner at dusk"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I purchased the fully loaded EX model. The outside body design is sharp with distinctive styling, particularly its tail lamps and running lights, and HID headlights. The six-speed automatic transmission works seamlessly.
I am impressed by the interior styling with its soft-touch dashboard and carbon fiber pattern around the center console and the 10-way power adjustable driver's seat with two memory positions, combined with the LCD screen with a trip computer and vehicle settings sits between the gauges, and a number of other luxury options uncommon to the compact car segment. It makes me wonder if I'm really not driving a luxury class car. I love having the Rear Display Camera when I shift the car into reverse.
The car is much quieter than I have experienced in all other cars in its class. The Dual-zone automatic climate control, Flex Steering, large touch high-resolution display screen Navigation System and voice commands for most all Forte functions, and Forte's Bluetooth pairing system make it a pleasure to drive. The air cooled driver's seat is such a big plus on a hot summer's day.
The only one real negative is that I wish the automatic headlights came on earlier at dusk and would turn on when using the windshield wipers."
