If you’re looking to get the most from your tight budget and a used SUV holds no appeal, Jeep’s compact Patriot SUV for 2017 might be worth a look. Carrying Jeep’s Trail Rated badge is a plus, as is a choice of two 4-wheel-drive (4WD) systems.
Although it bears the Jeep name, the Patriot compact SUV is really more car than truck, so no rugged off-road trails in this one. The Patriot also lacks the modern safety and infotainment features every other rival offers, and its reliability history is nothing of note.
