Positive Review
I have owned two Isuzu Rodeos. One was a 1998 (was totaled in 2002 with 100,000 miles on it) and the one a currently own is a 2004. Sadly I'm trading it in today to get a minivan since my husband and I are expecting our third child and need more space. Both of my Rodeos never needed any large repairs. I"ve replaced my brakes and my tires and that's it. My one complaint is that the check engine light constantly goes off if the gas cap is not replaced tightly. It goes off within a few days but it still has been annoying. The Rodeo is a great midsize SUV for the price. There are no fancy features but it is a comfortable ride. Also, when I was rear ended by a drunk driver last year with my 4 week old daughter in the back, my car suffered little damage. His truck was totaled. I have always felt very safe in this car. I will miss this car!!!!!
Critical Review
I've always loved this vehicle; it had everything I wanted in a car. However, there are mechanical issues that are typical of this vehicle. For instance, it guzzles up oil like no other. The older it gets, the more it burns. it doesn't usually seem to go anywhere (unless you have a head gasket that needs replacing; then it'll go into your spark plugs and that's happened a couple times since I've had the vehicle, and it's not very cheap to fix). Another thing that I didn't quite like was how low the gas mileage is (19 City/22 Hwy; or somewhere around there); I could drive for maybe 5 hours straight on highway until I had to fill up again. Other than that, I liked it a lot over the last 8 years.

I’ve had my rodeo since 2007, it’s a 2004 and I love it.she’s so much fun to drive and she takes a kicking and keeps on going.
Economical fuel-wise and a fun car to drive!
Needs a solenoid replaced in the transmission area
When we bought the Rodeo it needed a new windshield and it also has new tires. We made repairs recently, the major one being replacing the head gasket and so while it was off, virtually everything was replaced. The transmission was serviced and after the fact we now know it needs a "kick-up solenoid", I believe it's called. This little vehicle is super duper clean!
Comfortable and convenient SUV style.
Nothing notable.
I have had this car for 10 years. It is now 21 years old. This has been my favorite car of all time! The SUV style is so much more convenient and comfortable than sedans and pickups. It has been well maintained and has given me little problems. Nothing major. Of course, I don't drive much anymore, but still, nothing major.

My Isuzu Rodeo is the best auto investment I’ve made. I love the pick-up, space, and reliability. Brian, owner of San Carlos Auto has serviced my SUV for twenty one years. I credit him for my car running so long.
Have owned 1 since 03, has been a very good car, hate to see it go
Great Price-Reliability-Comfort-economic-solid
No rear view camera
I Wasnt sure at first that I would like an SUV type of vehicle... but after enjoying the comfort and reliability of this vehicle for all these years, I have nothing but accolades to say about it. The car is large enough, tough enough, comfortable enough, has a decent amount of features, and for the money - you just cannot go wrong with this vehicle. Solid, reliable, economic in gas, comfortable.
gr8 for hauling
bad gas millage
it gets the same gas mileage as an oil barrel with a hole in the bottom but it is an awesome car
