Positive Review
Have owned the 93 Amigo for 4 years now. Had a new radiator put in when I bought it and had a new head and cam put in last year '07. Other than that absolutely no problems. The air cond has worked since day one and I have never even had it serviced. Doesnt have enough power to get out of its own way (and I have the "big" engine) but gas mileage is good at 20mpg. Love this truck.
Critical Review
Bought this vehicle at 104k miles. Replaced H2O pump and belts (Did not need too, but for peace of mind). Only other major work is replaced clutch at 190,000 miles. Perform normal service like oil every 4k, and spark plugs and air filter around every 10k. Vehicle is the 4 banger that could. Used vehicle for trail riding, hunting, fishing and commuting. Pulled a 15 ft outboard boat and also 10ft box camper with ease. Overall this vehicle has been wonder and mechanically sound. Vehicle still does not leak, does not burn excess oil. Wonderful buy. Have had this vehicle for over 7 years and now at 240k miles, vehicle still running strong.

GREAT 4x4 and not very many like it
Small engine, so she doesn’t have much guts
I’ve had this car since the beginning of my driving experience. I’ve bought a millennia, a Dodge Ram 1500, and now to a Subaru Outback and still have not had enough of this thing. Has been by far the most reliable thing I’ve ever owned.
heat works great, new heater coil and front brake,
needs new driver door, front seat, no,ac burns oil
needs ac, needs drivers door replaced, burns quart of oil every 100 miles on interstate travel, needs driver seat replaced, heat works great, recently new front brakes and heater coil, 5speed 2.6
lots
minutia compared to any other vehicle I've had
I don't drive it all the time and the mileage shows that but every mile has been great. They don't build cars like this anymore, you know, reliable? I once stored it in my garage for 6 years. Put new battery, belts, water pump and a few fuses and it drives the way it drove when I first got it. People are always asking me about it because there are absolutely none in my area and now it kinda has a classic feel to it. Going to a car show once to see cars and there was a crowd by my Amigo when I came back to the parking area lol.
love it!!!!!!!!!!
pretty slow on highway
Bought new in 1994 drove it 280,000 hard miles never broke down only changed fluids belts brakes and a clutch at 240,000 iv drove it through rivers, up and down mountains, sand dunes, jumped it multiple times this thing just would not die Michigan salt finally made it unsafe to drive down the road so she's retired to a trail rig.
Many memories of good times!
Purchased brand new. Minimal repairs. Yesterday my mechanic asked me if I knew that my radiator cap was the original. I said yes, almost everything on her is original. The only flaw I noticed is the blind spot due to design flaw.
As the name of this little SUV suggest. This SUV has been a good friend for 20 years. I bought new in 1989 and have about 400,000 miles on it. With very little repairs. I get about 450miles to the tank full. I have gone threw many rivers, snow covered streets, deep sand and dirt. It has taken us south of the border, deserts and mountains.
Bought new in '93. Thought price a bit high at 1st but it has lasted and lasted with very few repairs. New valve cover gasket and a new timing belt, tires and battery. Great in snow and ice. Been down many bad roads for fishing. Getting older so easy to get in and out of. City gets 19.5, Hwy 22 mpg. About to sell or trade in. Getting a Mini Cooper Clubman.
