The Infiniti QX50 competes on the more affordable side of luxury compact SUVs. It’s both luxurious and practical with its roomy interior, modern tech features, and quiet, comfortable ride. The engine features some clever engineering that improves power and efficiency, while driver assistance features make your drive safer and more relaxed. Above-average cargo space further adds to this SUV’s practicality. The QX50 competes primarily with the Lexus NX, Acura RDX, and Genesis GV70.
2023 INFINITI QX50 pricing starts at $28,540 for the QX50 PURE Sport Utility 4D, which had a starting MSRP of $43,325 when new. The range-topping 2023 QX50 AUTOGRAPH Sport Utility 4D starts at $40,485 today, originally priced from $58,375.

The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors. We had a pleasant experience testing the Infiniti QX50. While it may seem unassuming, there’s some interesting, class-exclusive engineering under the hood in the form of the VC-Turbo engine. “VC” stands for “variable compression,” which means this turbocharged engine changes its compression ratio based on how you drive to provide an optimal balance of performance and efficiency.
The result is ample power and torque that’s still easy to manage and yields pretty good fuel economy. Although the power is satisfying, the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) tends to drone if you drive it hard, and the steering provides little feedback.
As for driving comfort, the QX50 does a nice job gliding over imperfections in the road. It’s quiet, smooth, and comfortable, living up to its luxury SUV credentials.
The 2023 Infiniti QX50 has a roomy and comfortable interior. The quality of this cabin is in line with its pricing, with nice interior materials and modern features. There’s plenty of space in the front and rear seats, and the cargo capacity is above average for an SUV this size making it a practical choice in compact luxury SUVs.
We found the infotainment system to come with a bit of a learning curve. It has two screens that take a little time to get used to. Wireless Apple CarPlay comes standard, but curiously, Android Auto requires plugging your phone into a USB port.
The stylish Infiniti QX50 has some interesting body lines, giving it character in a segment with a few bland competitors. A handsome light signature flanks a bold grille, and the window trim has a unique zig-zag line toward the back. A new Sport trim for 2023 has a unique appearance package with a sport front fascia, 20-inch black wheels, and black accents.
The size of the QX50 is average for a compact luxury SUV. Its dimensions resemble the Acura RDX, Lexus NX, and Genesis GV70.
ProPILOT Assist
The standard ProPILOT Assist system makes highway driving nearly effortless. It uses adaptive cruise control and steering assist to help keep you in your lane at a safe distance behind the car in front of you.
Wireless Apple CarPlay
Apple CarPlay is a handy feature that brings your phone’s apps to the screen in your car. In the QX50, you can do it without taking your iPhone out of your purse or pocket.
VC-Turbo engine
The VC-Turbo engine strives to deliver the power of a V6 with the fuel economy of a 4-cylinder. It uses class-exclusive variable compression engineering to adjust the compression ratio on the fly to optimize power and efficiency.
Infiniti Premium Care
Infiniti Premium Care is a complimentary maintenance plan that comes with all 2023 Infiniti models. Inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, brake fluid changes, and cabin air filter replacements are all covered for three years.
Head-up display
The available head-up display in the QX50 shows you vital information on the windshield, making it easier to keep your eyes focused on the road.
Panoramic moonroof
All but the base Pure trim of the QX50 comes with a panoramic power moonroof. This opens up the spacious interior for a more airy feel and gives your rear-seat passengers a nice view.
Every Infiniti QX50 is powered by a strong and efficient turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with variable compression. The VC-Turbo engine automatically changes the engine’s compression ratio to provide better performance when the driver demands it and better fuel economy in more relaxed driving and highway cruising.
Despite the clever engineering in the QX50, it’s worth noting that the turbo 4-cylinder engines in the Lexus NX 350 and Genesis GV70 make more power and torque than the Infiniti, with very similar fuel economy ratings.
The engine is mated to a CVT transmission. It’s usually smooth but sometimes drones under hard acceleration. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard, and all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional.

More QX50 fuel economy information is available on the EPA’s website.
The Infiniti QX50 is backed by a 4-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and a 6-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty. It also comes with the Infiniti Premium Care 3-year maintenance plan, which covers routine maintenance items like inspection, oil changes, tire rotations, and more.

Blind-Spot Intervention
As well as blind-spot monitoring, this standard system can apply the brakes along one side of the 2023 QX50 to prevent the driver from moving into a lane where another vehicle is too close.
Lane-Departure Prevention
Not exactly like the above, but deploys the same equipment to stop a driver from wandering across lane markings inadvertently. This is another feature that is standard in every 2023 QX50.
Rear Automatic Braking
Rear parking sensors usually just beep more insistently the closer a vehicle reverses toward a hazard, like a wall or a parked car. The QX50’s standard rear automatic braking function backs up the beeping with active stopping power.
