Supersized in both performance and mass, the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup is fast, trail-ready, and has some impressive tricks up its sleeve. Pricing starts at $99,045.
Like its gas- (or diesel) powered predecessors, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup is a terrific, powerful off-road machine that cuts a large figure. However, the modern Hummer EV pickup is all-electric and full of the latest tech. It’s also quick on its feet and more comfortable than the Hummer models of the 1990s and 2000s. It has impressive features like GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving system. And it does all of this with nearly 320 miles of range and zero tailpipe emissions. The GMC Hummer EV Pickup receives no major changes for 2025. Two new colors, Graphite Blue Metallic and Solar Orange, join the paint offerings. Supernova Metallic, Tide Metallic, and Afterburner Metallic leave.
The 2025 GMC HUMMER EV Pickup has a starting sticker price of $99,045, with the range-topping HUMMER EV Pickup 3X kicking off at $107,145. But Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Pricing currently suggests paying $1,981 to $2,143 less than MSRP, depending on trim and equipment. These prices are updated weekly.

No matter which of the two Hummer EV trims you choose, it’s pricier than competitors like the Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevy Silverado EV, or the Rivian R1T. The primary difference between the 2X and 3X trims is the motor count with a boost in horsepower and torque. If we were shopping for the Hummer EV, we might stick with the 2X trim and put that $8,000 difference toward some cool options like the Extreme Off-Road Package or the Lifestyle Adventure Package, which includes a rooftop tent.
Before buying (or ordering) the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to know what you should really pay. Among full-size electric pickup trucks, only the Rivian R1T holds its value better than the GMC Hummer EV Pickup. Recouping more money when selling a vehicle can mean a bigger down payment and lower monthly payments on the next one.
It seems physically impossible for a 9,000-plus-pound truck to be able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just over three seconds. Yet that’s what the Hummer EV Pickup can do with the tri-motor powertrain in the 3X and the Watts to Freedom launch system. That makes driving this truck thrilling. The Hummer EV is also surprisingly agile, thanks to its standard 4-wheel steering. The less powerful dual-motor 2X should provide more than enough power for most drivers. We are fans of one-pedal driving provided by some EVs, including the Hummer EV Pickup.
Yes, it’s large, but the Hummer EV Pickup is not as intimidating to drive as you might think. Behind the wheel, it feels smooth and comfortable, like an upscale full-size truck. It manages all that power and torque quite nicely, as the power is easy to modulate. But the Hummer EV Pickup is heavy, which you don’t feel as much while driving or regular cornering. Be ready to brake early when bringing it to a stop. That’s a handy tip when driving any heavy vehicle.
The Hummer is very well-equipped for the dirt, but the optional Extreme Off-Road Package takes it up a notch. This option bundle includes 35-inch mud terrain tires, front and rear e-lockers, full skid plates, front and rear UltraVision cameras, and more. The result is a truck that can handle just about any terrain.
One of the big payoffs with a truck this size is a spacious cabin. The front row has some of the best headroom and legroom you can find in a truck, while the rear row is slightly less accommodating. The seats are plenty comfy, too. The interior of the Hummer EV Pickup is a pleasant, roomy setting. GM has had a decades-long history of working on moon rovers for NASA; Easter egg design cues in the cabin make reference to the moon landing and the Sea of Tranquility.
User-friendly technology is one of the other strong suits of the Hummer EV Pickup. Its 13.4-inch main touchscreen has separate buttons to control the various audio, climate, and truck controls. Many of the tech and off-road controls are accessed through the screen itself. We like the customizable digital gauge cluster and the Google-powered infotainment system. There are plenty of clever storage spaces inside. And outward visibility is quite good.
Rugged and imposing, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup looks every bit like an heir to both the military Hummer and the Hummer H2, but more streamlined and futuristic. Its unique style makes it stand out among the other electric trucks, as well as everything else on the road. The fun Easter eggs continue on the exterior. An “H” logo is hidden in the taillights and rear tailgate brake light, there’s an “HEV” logo on the wheels, and there are American flags on the C-pillars. Fans of the 6-function MultiPro tailgate that’s available on the GMC Sierra will be happy to know it comes standard on the Hummer EV Pickup. In addition, the rear window slides down, making it easy to carry long, wide cargo. You can remove the optional Infinity Roof’s Transparent Sky Panels, put down the rear and side windows, and enjoy open-air driving.

Super Cruise
The standard Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system allows hands-free driving that will soon cover 750,000 miles of highway in North America.
Agile steering
The standard CrabWalk system uses 4-wheel steering to make it easier to maneuver around obstacles on the trail. On the road, that 4-wheel steering also gives the Hummer EV Pickup a turning radius similar to that of a Honda Civic.

Buckle up; the available Watts to Freedom feature launches this electric truck from zero to 60 mph in about three seconds.

MultiPro tailgate
The MultiPro tailgate has six different modes. This flexible tailgate can function as a load stop, steps, or even a desk.
The 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup comes with a choice of two potent powertrains. The 2X uses a dual-motor setup with 570 horsepower, and the tri-motor 3X has 1,000 hp. GMC’s estimates put torque at 7,400 lb-ft for the 2X and 11,500 lb-ft in the 3X when factoring in the Watts to Freedom feature.
Without any optional features, the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup has an EPA-rated range of 318 miles. That’s achieved in the 2X. However, GMC also offers a 24-module battery pack ($9,995) for the 3X trim that increases the maximum range to a GM-estimated 367 miles. Those are impressive numbers for such a massive vehicle. With a Level 3 DC fast charger, GM says you can add an estimated 100 miles of range in 12 minutes under optimal conditions. Using a Level 2 charger with a 240-volt power source takes just over 16 hours to go from 20% to 100%.
In Pickup and SUV forms, the GMC Hummer EV is about the least-efficient electric vehicle on the market. With EPA efficiency figures hovering around 53 MPGe combined, it uses more than twice as much electricity to cover the same distance as something like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, for instance. Even the Ford F-150 Lightning is as much as 40% more efficient than the Hummer EV. The 24-module, extended-range battery is necessarily massive, providing 212 kWh of storage. The Hummer EV Pickup can tow up to 12,000 pounds, depending on the trim. It has a 5-foot bed and a max payload capacity of 1,485 pounds. For reference, the Ford F-150 Lightning is rated to tow 10,000 pounds and haul 2,000 pounds.
GMC provides bumper-to-bumper limited warranty coverage for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Powertrain components are covered for five years or 60,000 miles, and the EV battery is covered for eight years or 100,000 miles. This is the same as the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevy Silverado EV.
Neither the government nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has crash/safety tested the GMC Hummer EV Pickup. However, it does come with a robust bundle of advanced driver-assist and safety technology. Included are automatic emergency front/rear braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and more.
