I got the 2018 Platinum edition 4WD, loaded with every option. THE GOOD: Drives well for the size, excellent acceleration (coming from 3 BMW X5 V8s!), good visibility and plenty of space in all 3 rows (Largest interior compared to any SUV on the market). Excellent build quality (interior). Towed large trailers and boats without any issues. Used for construction work and long trips with kids. THE BAD: Items fixed under warranty: SYNC-3 APIM Unit, Engine timing belt plastic guides and faulty Rear Seatbelt Airbag. THE UGLY: I never liked the look of the rear end. Need Improvements: GPS screen (new 2022 is going with 15.5”). Awful rear entertainment screen, limited functionality, they should be larger and touch screen, it can use more aggressive Brakes. For this price range ($85K), they should add HUD and auto brake; more automated self driving will be nice. Overall, I have been pleased with this car and looking forward to get the updated 2022 model.

So, I bought 2019 expedition Max with heavy duty towing option. I live in Arizona and we have a 7500 lbs trailer. So, the 2019 Ford Expedition with ECOBOOST seemed like a great fit. We have 4 kids a 6 seaters is a minimum requirement for our tow vehicle. The Ford Expedition is great with the kids lots of room. The power was better than the 2013 Expedition, and I was excited. However, the transmission temperature and water temperature and as both reached over 240. I never had this with the 2013 Expedition. I cannot believe the cooling capacity on the 2019 is so bad. I saw that the heavy duty towing package included a bigger radiator, but it is not enough. I would like to give you a view to share with others considering the 4th generation Ford Expedition.

Honestly dont know where to start, since day 2 of owning it the expedition has been a huge issue. I won't get into the weeds of it all, I will list just some of the expensive problems. At 52k miles new transmission The front and rear ac condenser units have been replaced 3 times. They keep cracking and completely leak out. Pcm at 38k completely went out while on a highway, literally went dark. Was in shop and dealership for 6 weeks. Radiator bad at 62k Then the coolant lines at 64k. Paint on grill started to bubble at 38k and is now destroyed. And so on. That on top of all the recalls that they can't fix and the absolute devaluation of the vehicle. I will 100% never buy another Ford product. And the trade in is terrible. So we are stuck with it for now.

Best car ford has ever made yes I’m kinda exaggerating but it’s a good car and I recommend it a lot.
Comfort and Space
Just brought home a gently used 2020 Expedition Max Platinum. We are thrilled with this vehicle. It will serve our busy family of 5 (and three large dogs) well for years to come. So much room, so comfortable!
In 4 years it will be 20k... but dealership won't give 15... they have issues with battery dying after a day.
Non-stop dealer visits! The dealership is always busy, keeping my brand-new car for weeks at a time! Everything was fine until the second oil change at the dealership. They insist on keeping the car for at least three days for an oil change—it’s their policy, and there’s nothing you can do about it if you own a brand new car which is under warranty. Right after the oil change, the rear window defroster stopped working—another two weeks at the dealership. As soon as that was fixed, the parking sensor failed—two more weeks at the dealership (at my expense, even though the car has never been in any kind of accident). Now the battery is dying, and I don’t even want to call the dealership—it’ll just mean a few more weeks without my car and another bill to pay. Completely disappointed! PS: independent mechanic said: it is Ford - they never been of a good quality
Purchased a week ago and love the car so far. Max is the way to go if you have kids.. look at a standard and max side by side, the difference is minimal. My kids are comfy and have plenty of space
