Positive Review
White Escape Hybrid titanium. Glad we decided on this instead of Rav4. It's a luxury car for us 'middle-weight' type people. Everything is fine...right now. More satisfied with the 2020 model than our 2016 titanium. Quiet, handles well, like switches, leather upholstery comfortable, visibility good, safety good, very good audio, and good grunt when needed. Driving 2/3's city and 1/3rd highways(2 lane mostly) currently averaging 42.2 mpg!'
Critical Review
Car has the 3 cyl eng..would not recommend it to anyone..has vibration in high gear on highway like it is underpowered...transmission is jerky at startup..maybe a different engine would make a difference but maybe not..not satisfied at all with my escape..

A few days before Christmas in 2023 I purchased a 2023 Ford Escape ST Line. The car was very slightly used, only 1100 miles on it, and was in perfect condition. This was my dream car and it took me years to save up enough money for a decent down payment. Overall I’m pleased with my vehicle but it has a few very annoying and pretty much useless features that are a result of poor engineering by Ford. The first issue I had was with the adaptive cruise control. Since the car has that technology I really wanted to use it! However, it is not usable! As you’re driving with adaptive cruise control on the vehicle keeps applying brakes suddenly, then speeding up, then applying brakes suddenly, then speeding up to get back to the speed limit. It is not good at predicting traffic flow at all and would apply the brakes when there was no reason to, like when I was driving in the middle of nowhere in Alabama and there were no obstacles or traffic or anything around or near the car. Or when driving under an overpass on a busy highway it applies the brakes for no reason. So it was extremely irritating. I also considered it to be dangerous since cars behind me would not be expecting it to apply brakes for no reason, so I had to turn off the adaptive cruise control and just use the “old-fashioned” cruise control which works perfectly fine! And believe it or not, even after I turned off the adaptive cruise control, every once in a while a warning appears on the dash saying the adaptive cruise control is not functioning! I’m not even using the adaptive cruise control or any cruise control at all, I’m just driving down the road and that error will come up on the dash! The second most annoying thing is the air conditioning. Since everything is routed through the electronic display screen, you cannot just get in your car on a hot day and turn the air conditioner on with a simple dial like you used to be able to. I mean how difficult would it have been to put a simple dial on the dash for the air conditioner?! Instead you have to wait for the view screen to activate which can sometimes take five minutes or more to connect. Just like any other computer sometimes there’s a glitch and it takes a few minutes to boot up. In the meantime, you’re about to pass out from the heat. I live in Georgia and it’s extremely hot here. And even after the screen starts working you have to mess around with the air conditioner settings to get it to blow cold air, only hot air comes out for several minutes and you have to keep messing with it. Instead of simply turning a dial up and down which you can do when you’re driving, as you’re driving you’re having to look at the screen and touch a bunch of different buttons to adjust the air conditioner. It’s very inconvenient and I consider it to be dangerous to have to do that while you’re driving! I also really don’t like the fact that the car turns off every time I come to a stop sign or a stoplight. Whose brilliant idea was it to design that? That’s going to wear out the starter eventually and just cost me a huge amount of money and there’s no reason for it. Especially if you’re driving in the city it’s annoying to have your car constantly stopping and starting. I know a lot of new cars have that feature but it makes no sense to me. We could’ve done without that… even if it saves a tiny amount of gas. So I just think the Ford Escape is over-engineered with too much technology that’s not really necessary. That being said however, I really do like the view screen which is very large and the back up camera is awesome! I also like the lights on the side mirrors that warn you if somebody is in your blind spot. That is a very good feature. It has a number of other safety features that I don’t use because I don’t feel like I need to use them but it’s nice to know they are there. Also the car is very comfortable and very attractive inside and out. And the gas mileage is pretty incredible.

My wife and I purchased a new 2023 Ford Escape Hybrid ST-Line in December 2023. Overall we're very happy with the vehicle but a couple of things make our decision a little disappointing. First, we keep having issues with the Rear Lift Gate. We've taken it in twice and it still doesn't work all the time. When we open the Rear Hatch it opens about a foot then stops. The second issue we've been fighting is the Entertainment System. We've had too many issues to list here. After about a year and a half, the problems have quieted down but every once in awhile it acts up. The big issue we're very concerned about is the engine. Since we purchased the vehicle we've read articles online about the two Turbo Charged engines for the NON Hybrid models. Evidently they are not very reliable engines and many people say they don't last more than 100,000 miles. The Hybrid Engine is different from the NON Hybrid motors and it's not turbo charged. We've read a wide spectrum of descriptions from the motor isn't very reliable to it's so reliable there haven't been any reported issues. We haven't had any issues with the motor so far so we're keeping out fingers cross the latter is true. Other than these issues, the vehicle is fun to drive. The seats are very comfortable. The Engine Modes are a nice touch, especially the Sport Mode, that I use most often. The interior is designed very nicely and we like the dashboard layout a lot! Overall we're very pleased with the Escape Hybrid but we simply could not give it 5 Stars based on the issues we've run into. I would also alert people reading this to be careful when reading reviews for the Escape. The regular Escape is a much different animal than the Hybrid model. The engines are completely different and even though there are many like parts, the Hybrid is a different vehicle.
Got our new 2022 Escape 1 week ago and we have been loving it!
Ford knows this car and engine is junk! They refuse to do anything about it until forced to by legal action. If you own Ford escape get ready for a $7000. Bill for a new engine. This car falls apart at 50,000 miles. Buyer beware!

I bought this car a week ago and it saves a lot of gas!
Just bought leftover 24, got great price 18700 off msrp with dealer discount and ford rebates. So far love car it does great job of regeneration of battery, smooth transition from battery to gas and vice versa. The info screen is lagging and a bit of pain to change settings but overall loving vehicle
It’s a bit different than my prior 2017 Escape, but the plug in advantage is great! I got all my bells and whistles…
Problems started small ONDAY TWO with wireless Android Auto dropping. Evolved to over a month with no audio of any kind and random failures such as lane keeping assist cute off, no GPS (car thinks it's they states away), backup beeper not working (I have little kids), interior light not working (except sometimes). Five visits for repair in first four months, the last time on a tow truck after it stranded my wife at 6 a.m. Three visits they just said "we can't fix it yet" and gave it back so Ford Buyback claims it doesn't qualify for State lemon law (three attempts to fix the same things... They had it all day, but couldn't fix it so they claimed it wasn't an attempt). Don't "stay away".... "RUN AWAY"
