"I bought my Aerostar as a Hertz Lease buy-back in 1996. It had 17,000 miles and was in excellent condition. We debated a wagon, but opted for the space and utility of the mini-van. We also lived in a hilly Seattle suburb subject to snow and ice. We were expecting our 4th child and found the interior cavernous, but were worried about reliability. This was unnecessary. We've watched our children grow up and move out through the rear-view mirror. We added a boat which it pulls without effort or wobble. We've performed regular maintenance religiously and get a little tickle every time we go back to a service provider who offered a lifetime warranty on mufflers, shocks etc which we've replaced through the generations of driving. At 17 mpg it is now our 3rd vehicle and spends most of its time waiting for a need to haul classmates or for those snowy days when everyone else is homebound (we especially love the way it outhandles all of our neighbors expensive and recently purchased SUVs). It won't win any prizes for style and fashion, but it refuses to die, and I refuse to put it out for pasture."
"very comfortable in drive. had an air condition problem once, and a short to the doom light the ran the battery down. both small fixes in the life of this vehicle. I just can't find the will to get rid of it. We us it know as a shed and work vehicle when the need arises."
"I've owned a large variety of foreign and domestic cars and pickups since 1967. Nothing beats the convience, gas mileage, durability, and long-distance drive comfort of the Aerostar. We are in the market for another. Original owner, 14 years."
