Ford Blue Advantage Certified Vehicles
Ford has nearly 3,000 dealerships in the United States. Most of them sell new, used, and certified used cars, so it’s pretty convenient to buy a certified used car at a Ford dealership and get it serviced there when needed. The Ford Blue Advantage program adds online search, guaranteed pricing, and a test-drive-at-home option. The company promises at-home vehicle purchase and delivery will be next – ask your local dealership if it participates.
All Ford-certified used vehicles come with a 14-day/1,000-mile (whichever comes first) money-back guarantee, which we consider a significant benefit of the program. Each vehicle benefits from 24/7 roadside assistance during its warranty period, though some services carry a per-incident fee.
The Ford Blue Advantage program has three benefits levels tied to three vehicle classes.
Ford Gold Certified
Used Ford vehicles up to six years old and with under 80,000 miles on the clock must pass a 172-point inspection to become Gold Certified. These cars come with a 12-month/12,000-mile (whichever comes first) comprehensive limited warranty and a 7-year/100,000-mile (whichever comes first, calculated from the original in-service date) powertrain limited warranty. Buyers get 22,000 FordPass Rewards Points they can use toward their first two maintenance visits to a Ford service center. All other Ford Blue Advantage benefits flow to the Gold Certified buyers.
Ford EV Certified
Electric vehicles (EVs) are unique and carry a modified version of the Blue Advantage program. Like the Gold Certified vehicles, EV Certified cars can be up to six years old with under 100,000 miles on the clock. They pass an EV-focused 127-point inspection, a testament to the relatively lower complexity of the EV powertrain. The EVs come with a 12-month/12,000-mile (whichever comes first) comprehensive limited warranty like the Gold Certified cars but carry a BaseCARE EV limited warranty of 8 years/100,000 miles. EV Certified buyers get 22,000 FordPass Rewards Points and all other Ford Blue Advantage benefits.
Ford Blue Certified
Ford dealers often accept competitive models in trade, and now they can offer Blue Certified status to any make or model (including Ford) up to 10 years old and with under 150,000 miles of use. Each Blue Certified vehicle comes with a 90-day/4,000-mile (whichever comes first) comprehensive limited warranty. Buyers get 11,000 FordPass Rewards Points with purchase and all other Ford Blue Advantage benefits.
