We found the 2022 Kia Sportage a handy and dandy partner well suited to the needs of the typical compact SUV buyer. Its suspension easily soaked up road imperfections, and its tidy size made parking a snap. The standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 181 horsepower felt adequate for getting the SUV up to speed, while the optional 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder with 240 hp made for a surprisingly fun drive partner.
The 2022 Kia Sportage offered four trims: LX, Nightfall, EX, and SX Turbo. Every model includes an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and safety systems such as forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and a driver monitoring system. A long list of options and available features includes a hands-free power tailgate, adaptive cruise control, navigation, Harman Kardon premium audio system, keyless entry, and even heated and ventilated front seats. All models came with front-wheel drive (FWD) standard or the option for all-wheel drive (AWD).
