What Owners are Saying About the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Double Cab
"Love it"
"I’ve owned 3 Silverado’s and I love them. I’ve had a 2000, 2005, and now my 2021. So far I’ve loved everything about the truck. I’ve had 0 issues out of the truck."
"Lemon"
"2nd day of owning, battery dead.Said cuz I left trailer plugged in.7th day battery dead and engine light on.Service checked and found no issue. On way home radio comes on and off, auto stop not working, skipping badly. They replaced a burnt wire.Back at shop now for 9 days ,found nothing wrong.Between wife and I have had chevys for 40 years all high end. This will be 17 days in shop out of owning it for 35.....sick about it."
"Major improvements for 2019!"
"I traded up from a 2017 (which was already a great truck!) to a 2019 and wow what an improvement! I have the 5.3 with 8 speed tranny, which is smooth shifting, super quiet ride, etc, etc. Chevy as the controls and buttons all figured out nicely for easy of use. The backseat of this crew cab is even bigger than the previous model; its so big the kids can almost play football back there. Definitely another great value from Chevy. Minor irksome points include the goofy tilt/telescoping steering wheel. The previous model had a simply stalk that allowed easy up/down but the 2019 uses a goofball 'Japanese style' system, which is ery annoying and cumbersome to use. Also missing the ashtray (not for smoking but for storing small items like trailer keys, chapstick, and stuff). Also, they took away the third cup holder in the front/center, which is also annoying since I always have two different drinks while my passenger also has her own. But everything else is awesome and absolutely love this truck!"

Transmission, Resale value, Overrated
Trucks are not holding their value at this time. New trucks are piling up because of lack of sales. This truck has some issues with the transmission and i pretty much I have to deal with it. Service dept fixed the recall, but this problem is still continuing. Fuel mileage no good 16/21 mpg.. Uncomfortable cloth seats for long distance. Stereo is not impressive as it should be. Now I am finding more of these trucks for sale. It's already a problem for the future value.
This truck is a ZR1 with "Special" paint that I paid extra for. It has 41000 miles. Tell me this truck isn't worth more money.

Everything
2020 custom trailboss all together 3 transmissions installed and still multiple problems, water pump issues, electrical issues including radio always turning off. Horn works when it wants to. Randomly turn signals turn on with vehicle off. By far worst vehicle I’ve ever owned. I will never buy another Chevy pickup ever again
GM, lasts forever, looks great, can be modified ez
Rough ride, trans shiftn, ent sys sucks
I am DIE HARD GM.. My 2008 crew LT was ok, bit underpowered (315hp) and brakes sucked but ok... This bought new 2020 5.3L 8 spd auto LT 2wd.. The 8 speed trans is in 3rd gear at about 20 MPH- constant lugging (which blows out the hyd lifters eventually) HATE the 8 (speed trans), a 6 would be perfect. 355hp? yeah at 5000rpm- which the engine will NEVER see as per last sentence and torque is up there too... So I usually drive in Manual mode.. Inside is OK- but my friends Iphone WILL NOT WORK on speak mode, my Android will.. No fix for that.. The stereo system actually sounds ok but the head unit sucksssssss (but that could be Google?) And the ride on this truck is "like a rock" as they say- prob the harshest truck I've owned.. All said, its the bests looking truck, and does its job.. Hauls well and has some nice features- just wish they'd quit with the upshifting/more speeds so it (wont really) save gas,, and soften the ride!
Styling, comfort, towing, hauling.
Reliability, loud tires on bare road.
Love the styling and accessories. Really upset about the constant mechanical issues. Truck has 19k miles and has been in the shop twice for brake issues, once for an electrical short that shut the truck off in busy traffic. The power sun-roof has stopped working about a month ago. One of the brake issues required a complete redo of the entire rotor and brake system. Warranty covered that at 13k miles. Had to take it in a short time after the brake redo to get another brake issue corrected. My truck is over 3 years old, but only has 19k miles, as it is not a daily driver. Three of the four major issues I've had have been since the 3 year warranty expires. My dealer would not honor the warranty even though the truck had low-low mileage. So, it cost me quite a bit of money out of pocket. Tires are super loud on the highway. A 58k priced truck should be more reliable.
