VW website lets TDI model owners check vehicle status

Volkswagen has added a new feature to its www.vwdieselinfo.com website that allows owners of models powered by its 2.0-liter/4-cylinder turbodiesel engines to see if their vehicles are impacted by the emissions software issue. By inputting the Vehicle Information Number (VIN), any TDI owner can access the complete database of 2009-2015 VW cars that are affected here in America.

At this point, the automaker has yet to issue a recall or indicate what specific modifications will need to be made to bring these vehicles into compliance with the EPA regulations. Michael Horn, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America stressed that the emissions issue in no way affects the operational safety of any of the cars and that owners do not need to take any further action until they are notified by VW.
