Volvo’s best-selling XC60 and XC90 will now be available as long-range plug-in hybrids. The XC60 also gets a design update. Both SUVs get serious electric range, with the XC60 racking up to 78 miles on a single charge and the XC90 getting 73 miles, according to Volvo.
The extra range comes courtesy of a larger capacity, floor-integrated battery, and a more powerful electric motor.
The New XC60
Volvo describes the redesigned XC60 as having a “more dynamic and contemporary look.” An upgraded grille redesigned front bumper, hood, front wings, and wheels convey elegance. A stronger emphasis on the car’s horizontal lines gives the car a more confident stance. The Thor’s Hammer headlights are also refined for an eye-catching update.
The interior of the cabin speaks to Scandinavian design with a new dashboard, door panel, and wood décor. Cardamom ventilated Nappa leather and interior lighting create a sense of calm.
New safety technology allows the XC60 to respond in real time if a collision is detected. The car helps by choosing the safest possible action in the moment, such as emergency braking or emergency steering.
Key information and controls are within easy reach, and an 11.2-inch screen gives you access to Volvo Car UX.
The New XC90
The XC90 now features Google Gemini, Google’s AI assistant. Like the XC60, a premium Scandinavian feel makes the interior all the more relaxing with natural light and smooth wood décor. Both cars also benefit from over-the-air software updates.
The new XC60 and XC90 will enter production later this fall with deliveries expected to begin in early 2027.
