Volkswagen is recalling for 49,958 Tiguan compact SUVs from the 2025 model year due to a software issue that may cause the body control module (BCM) to reset unexpectedly while the vehicle is being driven. If the BCM resets, the ignition may switch off. This could cause the engine to stall or the loss of exterior lighting or rearview camera systems.
Volkswagen is unaware of any accidents or injuries associated with the defect. To fix the issue, Volkswagen dealers will update the BCM free of charge.
