Toyota has recalled 161,268 Tundra trucks from the 2024 and 2025 model years due to issues with the parking assist software.
A report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) states that the “Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system,” which displays images from multiple vehicle cameras, “may become stuck on a camera view, or display a black image after a camera view change request.” The recall states, “If this occurs and the vehicle is subsequently shifted into reverse, the rearview image may not display.”
Toyota is not aware of any warranty claims, accidents, or injuries related to this recall.
Toyota dealers will remedy this situation by updating the parking assist ECU software. This service is free of charge, as recall repairs always are. Owners with affected vehicles will be notified beginning March 10, 2026.
Millions of cars are recalled, sometimes more than once. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they may not always reach everyone. You can check whether your vehicle may be subject to a recall using the easy tool at our recall center.
