Toyota Recalls Highlander, Highlander Hybrid Over Seat Belt Issue

Toyota has recalled 39 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid SUVs from model years 2024 and 2025 because their third-row center seat belts may not function properly.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the third-row center seat belt “includes an anchor to the roof. The bolt attaching this anchor to the roof may have been installed at an improper angle.”

Dealers will fix the problem by replacing the bolt.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely get them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. To find out if your car is one of them, check the easy VIN tool at our recall center.
