Getting its global reveal at the Geneva Motor Show, the Toyota i-TRIL Concept reflects the automaker’s thinking on a future city-centric electric vehicle. Co-developed by Toyota Motor Europe in concert with the automaker’s ED2 design studio in Nice, France, this diminutive EV is being pitched as an alternative to existing A- and B-segment conventional and electric vehicles as well as motorcycles for those who demand a measure of fun even while driving at slow speeds in a crowded urban environment.

Toyota said the new i-TRIL Concept “will showcase numerous innovative aspects of Toyota’s research into ever better and more engaging environmentally-friendly mobility solutions.” Those include a 1+2 seating and the latest iteration of the Active Lean technology introduced on its i-Road Concept that debuted at the 2013 Geneva show. Toyota added that the i-TRIL Concept will be capable of autonomous operation.
