Toyota FT-86 Open Concept teased for Geneva

While being presented as a technical one-off intended to gauge potential public reaction, you can pretty well bet the Toyota FT-86 Open Concept that’s heading for a full reveal at the Geneva Auto Show next month will find its way into the showroom sometime within the next 12-18 months. Following a familiar path trod by previous generations of Celica models that launched as coupes but went on to spawn drop-tops, this al fresco variation on the Toyota GT-86 – aka Scion FR-S in the U.S. – has "real deal" written all over it – starting with its "FT," for "Future Toyota," designation. While no tech details accompanied this initial teaser image of the FT-86 Open Concept, the release did confirm that Toyota is currently carrying out engineering tests on a prototype.
