Tesla has raised prices on all but one of its cars.
The top-of-the-line Model S sees the biggest increase. Its Plaid Plus trim sees a bump of $10,000, to $149,900 (plus a $1,200 destination charge). It’s a steep price, but the Plaid Plus is a no-compromise model. It claims 520 miles of range, with a 0-to-60 mph time of 1.99 seconds.
Down in the price range where far more customers shop are the Model 3 and Model Y. Each of those sees an increase, but nothing like the five-figure jump of the S.
The entry-level Model Y gets a $1,000 price increase, rising to $49,990. Other trims are unchanged.
Most trim levels of Model 3 see a $500 boost. The least-expensive Tesla, the Model 3 Standard Range, will now come for $37,490 before the destination charge. A step up, the Model 3 Long Range also sees a $500 increase, now costing $46,490. The Performance model’s price remains unchanged.
The company has been wildly successful by most measures – 79 percent of the electric vehicles on the road in the U.S. today are Tesla products.
