Tesla Brings Back Longer-Range Model 3 RWD

Electric car buyers more concerned with range than performance have an old new option in 2024. Tesla has returned the Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) to its lineup.

The longest-range Model 3 used to come and go from the Tesla lineup regularly. But it’s been five years since the company offered a RWD package with its largest available battery.

The Model 3 Long Range RWD gets up to 363 miles between charges. That beats the Hyundai Ioniq 6’s longest-range trim level by 2 miles, though we should note that range varies widely based on driving style and weather, so the two are now roughly the same.

Tesla has not disclosed power figures, but claims the car will get from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds.

It starts at $44,130, including the mandatory $1,390 destination fee and a $250 order fee. But it’s eligible for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit, and additional discounts in some states.
