Resurrecting a name first used by the famed British automaker in 1938, the new Rolls-Royce Wraith will make its world debut at this year’s Geneva Auto Show in March. While few details have been confirmed about this scaled-down/powered-up 2-door version of the existing Ghost model, Rolls CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös set expectations high by serving notice the world should: "Expect the boldest design, the most dramatic performance and the most powerful Rolls-Royce that has ever played host to the famous Spirit of Ecstasy figurine."

Müller-Ötvös went on to note: "We will present a model whose starting point is luxury, refinement and exclusivity, traits that have made Rolls-Royce the world’s pinnacle luxury good for the last 108 years. This is a car not only defined by a timeless elegance, but one that encapsulates a sense of power, style and drama."

The first official factory teaser image shows the new Wraith has the same kind of flowing fastback roofline as the Bentley Continental GT but features more crisply tailored Rolls-Royce bodywork as well as the distinctive rear-hinged door structure found on the Ghost.

According to reports out of Europe, the new Rolls-Royce Wraith also should be blisteringly quick, courtesy of a series of enhancements to its 6.6-liter V12 engine that could pop maximum horsepower beyond the 600 mark. The factory is expected to reveal several more details about its hottest offering ever in the weeks ahead, and sales are set to commence during the fourth quarter of this year.
