Recall Alert: Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, CLS, E-Class

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLS in blue, seen from an overhead angleMercedes-Benz has announced a recall affecting about 900 vehicles because their exit warning systems – a system that detects approaching vehicles when parked and warns passengers to wait for them to pass before opening doors – may not function.

The recall affects some, but not all, examples of the:

Mercedes tells federal safety authorities that “incorrect coding” can keep the system from issuing the visual and acoustic cues it’s designed to issue.

Dealers will correct the problem with a software update.
