Mercedes-Benz has announced a recall affecting about 900 vehicles because their exit warning systems – a system that detects approaching vehicles when parked and warns passengers to wait for them to pass before opening doors – may not function.
The recall affects some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2023 Mercedes-AMG GT
- 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLS
- 2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
Mercedes tells federal safety authorities that “incorrect coding” can keep the system from issuing the visual and acoustic cues it’s designed to issue.
Dealers will correct the problem with a software update.
