Kia is recalling about 73,000 2013-2014 Optima sedans because their low-pressure fuel lines can leak, potentially leading to a vehicle fire. If you own one, and you think you’ve already had this repair done, keep reading.
This is the second time these vehicles have faced a recall for this same issue. In documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Kia explains that the first recall repair “may not have been properly performed in all cases.”
Some dealers may have used heat-protective tape to repair fuel hoses that should have been replaced. So Kia is recalling the vehicles again. This time, dealers will replace all the hoses rather than attempt to repair them.
