Recall Alert: Jaguar I-PACE Gets Park Outside Warning

2020 Jaguar I-Pace

Jaguar has recalled about 200 I-PACE electric cars from model years 2019 through 2023 that may have had an earlier recall repair performed incorrectly. Jaguar recalled thousands of I-PACE SUVs earlier over an issue that could cause their batteries to overheat. The company fixed the problem with a software update. But Jaguar now believes that at least one retailer “used a non-approved service diagnostic tool and the correct software was, as a result, not downloaded to the vehicle concerned.”

Jaguar’s recall announcement does not identify the dealership in question. The company says it will contact individual owners to let them know they need the repair again.

Jaguar asks owners who receive the second recall notice “to park and charge their vehicle outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete, and for 30 days after the repair has been completed.”

Dealers will fix it with the same software update “using the correct service diagnostic tool.”

Recall repairs are always free. Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner, but they don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car needs any urgent safety repairs at our recall center.
