Aston Martin is recalling 2,902 of its DBX SUVs from model years 2021 through 2024 because they potentially have loose electrical cables in a fuse box that can cause a host of problems.
The company tells federal traffic safety officials that loose connections “can result in an engine stall or a loss of headlights and/or power steering.” Any of those things could lead to an accident.
Aston Martin says it “is not aware of any injuries or road traffic accidents associated with this concern.” Owners might see any of several warning lights as the problem develops, the company says. The driver may also notice an “unpleasant odor in the cabin” as loose connections heat up and could melt the plastic fuse box housing.
Dealers will inspect the cables in the box and replace any damaged parts. Even if they find no damage, they will install a new attachment system that should not develop the same problems.
Aston Martin says the work “will take under one hour to complete, at no cost to the owner.”
Recall repairs are always free. Automakers recall many cars for safety repairs, often more than once. Manufacturers try to reach every owner to warn them. However, some may fall through the system’s cracks and unknowingly drive recalled cars. Check our easy recall tool to determine if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls.
